Esta invencion se relaciona a un fragmento de acido nucleico aislado que codifica proteinas de desarrollo floral, mas especificamente un homologo FT o Ap3. La invencion tambien se relaciona a la construccion de una estructura de ADN recombinante que codifica a todas o una porcion de las proteinas de desarrollo floral, en orientacion de sentido o antisentido, en donde la expresion de la estructura de ADN recombinante resulta en la produccion de niveles alterados del homologo FT o ap3 en una celula hospedera transformada.
