Abstract

Se revela un aparato y un método para la produccion de carburo férrico con una calidad predeterminada. El método para la produccion de carburo férrico (Fe3C) comprende reducir y carbura una materia prima contentiva de hierro, la cual contiene oxidos de hierro (por ejemplo, hematita) o hidroxidos de hierro como componentes principales, en donde la materia prima es reducida parcialmente hasta alcanzar un índice de reduccion de 50% hasta 65% por medio de un gas que contiene principalmente hidrogeno en una primera fase del proceso de reaccion, después de lo cual la materia prima parcialmente es reducida adicionalmente y carburada con un gas que contiene principalmente hidrogeno y metano en una segunda fase del proceso de reaccion, para proveer carburo férrico.
