Abstract

La invencion proporciona método y medios para mejorar la permeacion epidérmica, transdérmica y dérmica de un agente activo farmacologicamente, aplicado topicamente (por ejemplo, un fármaco o medicamento) el cual tiene una velocidad baja de penetracion en la piel en la sustancia de un mejorador de la permeacion y el cual es inestable y se degrada durante el almacenamiento a largo plazo con los mejoradores de la permeacion particulares. También son provistos por la invencion métodos y medios para incrementar la penetracion en la piel de un agente activo farmacologicamente el cual tiene una velocidad normalmente baja de permeacion en la piel y provoca la inestabilidad y la degradacion de un mejorador de la permeacion con el cual el mismo es combinado durante un período prolongado de tiempo. Se proveen por medio de la invencion al menos una primera composicion que contiene un fármaco, una sal aceptable farmacéuticamente, un derivado químico o formulacion del mismo, en un vehículo aceptable dermatologicamente, y al menos una segunda composicion que contiene un mejorador de la permeacion de un vehículo aceptable. Las composiciones están separadas físicamente hasta la aplicacion a una superficie del cuerpo o de la cara y son aplicadas topicamente, ya sea al mismo tiempo, o secuencialmente dentro del transcurso de un período de tiempo breve una de la otra, y mezcladas o combinadas para formar una composicion activa final, preferiblemente sobre la piel. Además, se puede hacer una premezcla de las composiciones y se puede aplicar a la piel de acuerdo con la invencion. La invencion permite que una cantidad del fármaco efectiva terapéuticamente sea suministrada hacia la piel y a la circulacion sistémica, y proporciona una mejora significativa del nivel de otra manera bajo, de la permeacion en la piel del fármaco, por la accion del mejorador de la permeacion en la composicion activa en el punto de uso.
