Abstract

Method for inhibiting mammalian cell growth is disclosed. The method uses compounds known as N-acetonylarylamides. The compounds have been shown inhibit cell mitosis and to inhibit microtubule assembly. The method may be used to treat diseases associated with rapid all growth particularly cancer. The compounds used in the method of the present invention may be used in combination with other therapies and may be administered by known techniques for drug administration.
