Abstract

Se presenta un localizador de terminal movil para localizar una terminal movil en un sistema de telecomunicacion celular que tiene un pluralidad de estaciones de base y células asociadas. El localizador de terminal movil identifica una pluralidad de células de relevo candidatas que tienen una fuerza de señal suficiente para mantener una llamada con la terminal movil, y obliga relevos secuenciales de la terminal movil a partir de la célula que está proporcionando el servicio hacia la pluralidad de células de relevo candidatas. El localizador mide después la fuerza de la señal y el retardo de propagacion entre la terminal movil y cada estacion de base asociada con cada una de la pluralidad de células de relevo candidatas y entre la terminal movil y la estacion de base de servicio. Finalmente, el localizador de terminal movil calcula un punto de interseccion de la pluralidad de arcos de localizaciones posible, el punto de interseccion definiendo la localizacion de la estacion movil. El localizador puede operar en sistemas de telecomunicacion celular con o sin señales de referencia de sincronizacion sincronizadas provenientes de las estaciones de base.
