La presente invencion se refiere a un nuevo proceso de hidrolisis enzimática de 4-metiltioburilonitrilo en ácido 4-metiltiobutírico racémico, con la ayuda de una nitrilasa de Alcaligenes faecalis, Rhodococcus sp., Ht 29-7 o de Gordona terrae.
