Abstract
El procedimiento de esta invencion está dirigido a aislar o de otra manera obtener un microorganismo productor de macrolido olefínico, dicho microorganismo no conteniendo actividad de enzima epoxidasa; esta invencion también se refiere a un procedimiento para preparar dicho macrolido olefínico fermentando un microorganismo mutante que carece de actividad epoxidasa, designada rosX en la presente, dicho mutante siendo obtenido del microorganismo de tipo silvestre; esta invencion también se refiere a un mutante rosX de Micromonospora rosaria; y a cualquier microorganismo que tenga las características de identificacion del mismo, dicho mutante también designado ATCC 55709. Esta invencion también se refiere a un procedimiento para preparar repromicina, el compuesto de la formula II. Mutando un microorganismo de tipo silvestre que puede producir rosamicina para producir un microorganismo mutante que carece de actividad de epoxidasa de tal manera que la repromicina es producida por dicho microorganismo mutante.
