Abstract
El uso, en un sensor, de estimulación ultrasónica junto con un material piezoeléctrico sensible a la presión hace posible tener medidas de presión tridimensionales en un objeto con una sola operación. Un material piezoeléctrico que es manufacturado con superficies conductivas en ambos lados y con orientación al esfuerzo cortante (por ejemplo, piezovoltaje producido por presión en materiales sensibilizados en un solo eje de un plano de esfuerzo cortante), y genera un voltaje proporcional cuando se estira o comprime (y la tensión y la comprensión se detectan por la generación de voltajes polarizados opuestos), hace posible medir fuerzas normales por estimulación ultrasónica, y fuerzas al esfuerzo cortante por generación de voltajes piezoeléctricos, usando el mismo sensor. En la modalidad preferida, varios sensores están colocados en un arreglo de alta densidad, y se obtienen varios ejes para medir las tres dimensiones variando la orientación de cada sensor en relación al sensor adyacente.
