Abstract
Compuestos de la fórmula (I):(en donde: R es hidrógeno, metilo o hidroxi; X es alquilo, alquenilo, cicloalquilo, arilo, aralquilo o un grupo heterocíclico; A es una sola ligadura, o un grupo alquileno, alquenileno, alquinileno o alcadienileno; Y es hidrógeno, arilo, cicloalquilo o un grupo heterocíclico) tiene la capacidad para inhibir la biosíntesis de colesterol y por lo tanto se puede usar para el tratamiento y profilaxis de enfermedades relacionadas con altos niveles de colesterol en la sangre.
