Abstract
Se proporcionan un artículo balístico resistente y un método para su fabricación; el artículo comprende al menos un compuesto consolidado, en donde el al menos un compuesto consolidado comprende una capa A y una capa B enlazadas entre sí, cada capa A y B exhibe una primera superficie, una segunda superficie opuesta a la primera superficie, y una sección transversal que se extiende desde la primera superficie a la segunda superficie, cada capa A y cada capa B comprende una red de fibras que tiene una fuerza de al menos 800 mN/tex (1100 MPa) de conformidad con ASTM D 7269-07, y las fibras en cada capa A y B se impregnan con un material de matriz, caracterizado en que el material de matriz se distribuye a lo largo de la sección transversal de cada capa en la forma de un gradiente de concentración, en donde la concentración inicia con un valor máximo sobre la primera superficie, de modo que la primera superficie es rica en material de matriz, disminuye a lo largo de la sección transversal y alcanza un valor mínimo sobre la segunda superficie, de modo que la segunda superficie es pobre en material de matriz, y el material de matriz comprende una mezcla de 75 a 95 % en peso de policloropeno, y de 5 a 25 % en peso de un copolímero aleatorio de cloruro de vinilo y un éster acrílico basándose en el peso de la mezcla.
