Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un método para inactivar un virus en una muestra que comprende un componente de proteína, caracterizado porque comprende: (a) proporcionar una muestra que comprende el componente de proteína, en donde la muestra es una corriente de efluente de un paso de purificación y se conoce o se sospecha que la muestra contiene un virus; (b) agregar un protector a la corriente de efluente para formar una mezcla estabilizada; (c) medir la absorbancia de la mezcla estabilizada; (d) pasar la mezcla estabilizada a través de un dispositivo configurado para proporcionar exposición continua de luz UV, tal que se suministra a la mezcla una dosis objetivo de luz UV bajo la cual el virus es inactivado; y ( e) con base en la medida de absorbancia, ajustar la exposición a la luz UV tal que tal que la dosis objetivo de luz UV se suministra continuamente a la mezcla estabilizada que pasa a través del dispositivo, en donde los pasos (c), (d) y ( e) son realizados como parte de un ciclo de retroalimentación automático.
