Abstract
Se divulga un método y aparato para partición de bloque en codificación y decodificación de video. De acuerdo con un método de la presente invención, datos de entrada asociados con un bloque actual en una imagen actual son recibidos, en donde el bloque actual comprende un bloque de luma y un bloque de croma que van a ser codificados o decodificados, y en donde un tamaño de bloque mínimo es restringido para que no sea mayor que un tamaño mínimo restringido para el bloque de luma sin considerar si un árbol de partición dual o un árbol de partición única es utilizado para el bloque actual. El bloque de luma es particionado en uno o más bloques hoja de luma y el bloque de croma en uno o más bloques hoja de croma utilizando el árbol de partición dual o el árbol de partición única. Dicho uno o más bloques hoja de luma y dicho uno o más bloques hoja de croma son codificados o decodificados.
