Abstract
La presente invención se relaciona con una boquilla de plancha (1) para usar en una instalación de colada continua de plancha, caracterizada por una geometría específica de la pared exterior de una porción corriente abajo de esta, que se inserta en una cavidad del molde de plancha. La geometría específica promueve un efecto "glorieta" por medio del cual las corrientes convergentes opuestas de metal fundido que fluyen hacia dos flancos opuestos de la boquilla de plancha se desvían cada una preferentemente hacia un lado de la boquilla de plancha donde pueden fluir libremente a través de los canales estrechos formados entre la boquilla de plancha y la pared de la cavidad de molde de plancha sin impactar entre sí. Esto prolonga la vida útil de la boquilla de plancha al reducirse sustancialmente el índice de erosión de la pared exterior de esta.
