Abstract
Un cable híbrido que tiene un núcleo y una envoltura; el núcleo hecho de un hilo de fibra de carbono o haz de hebras o hilos de fibra de carbono; y la envoltura hecha de una pluralidad de alambres de metal enrollados helicoidalmente alrededor del núcleo, la pluralidad de alambres metálicos colocados uno al lado del otro sin cruzarse entre sí. Las fibras, hilos o núcleo se pueden tratar con encolado polimérico, adhesivo o aglutinante. El cable puede ser de acero y puede tener un revestimiento tal como chapado de latón o zinc, o un revestimiento o tratamiento polimérico. El cable híbrido es útil para reforzar artículos compuestos como bandas, orugas o mangueras.
