Abstract

Se describen métodos para producir etanol a partir de biomasa celulósica y, en particular, métodos para acondicionar biomasa pretratada. En algunas modalidades, la biomasa pretratada se pone en contacto con un fluido de enfriamiento en un recipiente de evaporación instantánea para enfriar la biomasa. La cantidad de solución alcalina puesta en contacto con la biomasa puede ser en base al pH de la biomasa pretratada parcialmente hidrolizada en un biorreactor de licuefacción.
