GEOMEMBRANE PRODUCED FROM HIGH-DENSITY POLYETHYLENE MIXTURES, LOW-DENSITY LINEAR POLYETHYLENE AND
LOW DENSITY POLYETHYLENE
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The invention concerns an innovative geomembrane produced from mixtures of high density polyethylene linear density polyethylene and low density polyethylene, in particular a product used in various areas of civil engineering, innovative design and provide important technological improvements and functional, with the most modern concepts of guimic engineering and in accordance with the norms and specifications required, resulting with its own characteristics and provided with the basic regulations of novelty and inventive activity, producing as a result a series of technical, practical and economic advantages, They are real and extraordinary.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The term geosynthetics is used to describe a family of synthetic products used to solve problems in geotechnics. The synthetic nature of these products makes them suitable for use in earth moving where a high level of durability is regulated.
These products are composed of a variety of materials and shapes, each adapted to a particular use or need. The main geotechnical works that use these materials are: irrigation canals, mining, landfills, containment structures, reservoirs, canals and dams.
Geomembrane is one of the most common types of geosynthetics and consists of a plastic laminate, elastic and flexible. The most commonly found types are made of polyethylene - PE or polyvinyl chloride - PVC. They present excellent performance when used as a waterproofing coating, and can have various applications in waterproofing, thus preserving the environment avoiding the contamination of soil, groundwater and nearby tributaries.
In mining, geomembrane is used as a floor covering at the bases of the leach piles, in the gutters that transport the leached liquid, in the storage lakes of that liquid and in the evaporation ponds. It can also be used in the waterproofing of the evaporation tanks of lithium mines and in the gold and copper mine processes.
The geomembrane is used in civil engineering to build irrigation canals and dykes, besides being applied
in the waterproofing of tunnels, slabs and storage tanks.
The geomembrane in fish farming is perfect for waterproofing ponds for fish farming without risk to the environment.
The geomembrane also serves as a waterproof layer in sanitary landfills, avoiding exhalation of the odor and promoting the capture of gas for energy use.
In agriculture, geomembrane can be used in the construction of manure storage containers from the raising of livestock animals. You can also use it as a cover to capture the gas generated for energy oses.
As is known to those skilled in the art, the currently available products are produced with conventional polyethylenes obtained from non-renewable sources. Currently there is already geomembranes produced by means of polyethylene obtained through sugarcane. The polyethylenes currently used for the production of the geomembrane are obtained by means of naphtha or by means of gas.
In this way some inventors have idealized some similarities with the invention object of the present
application that is indicated below, however all alien to the fact of the preservation of the environment.
The patent document PI0701720-0 presented on 05/18/2007 with the title "insertion introduced in geomembrane bobbin" describes a main body formed from a winder provided with conductor arms and organizers, these arms positioned in the extremities formed from different members, the lower member being positioned statically, while the adjacent members are articulated and having, on their internal faces, transverse channels, while the external face receives gears, being that the conducting arms are formed by several members, the static member being positioned in the lower section followed by articulated members provided with toothed pulleys which make, through distribution belts, the interconnection of the members, said conductor arms being provided with cylinders tires for movement and provided with automatic air purging devices controlled by computer, the driving arms being connected to the organizing arms through steering beams.

bottom up, the sub-base, drain layer e is compacted to capture the water from the subsoil, the layer of compacted soil, external bottom coated with geotextile, polymeric blanket or similar, drainage layer for uptake of oil / liquid hydrocarbons, layer of compacted soil, aggregate base of stone compacted by asphalt primer, flexible bituminous coating and internal bottom coated with geotextile, polymeric blanket or similar.
As can be seen, none of these patent documents known from the state of the art integrally present the characteristics of the geomembrane produced from mixtures of high density polyethylene and linear low density polyethylene from the sugar cane which is the object of the present invention.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In view of this, studies were carried out over time trying to eliminate these problems and, as a result, this product was developed that makes possible the conception of a geomembrane produced with high density polyethylene and linear density polyethylene mixtures, through which arose the possibility of obtaining a geomembrane from renewable sources, thus obtaining an integrated product with real possibilities of an economic industrialization.
One of the objectives of the present invention is to obtain a sustainable geomembrane, that is, produced with a product from a renewable source and that contributes to the environment both in the generation of energy and in the elimination of C02.
The objective is the generation of a material produced through a renewable source. In addition, the processes for polyethylene production consume a lot of energy. The polyethylene produced by means of sugarcane generates energy by means of the burning of sugarcane bagasse sufficient for the operation of the plant, even if there is a surplus. In addition, the process of photosynthesis of sugarcane consumes C02 from the environment. For each kg of polyethylene produced, approximately 2 kg of C02 is consumed from the environment. That is, this geomembrane is also a sustainable product. The geomembrane object of the present patent is produced with polyethylene obtained by means of sugar cane, being obtained by the processes of production named process balloon and plate / mold. However, polyethylene will be produced from renewable sources contributing in this way to the environment.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The geomembrane, object of the present invention, is obtained by means of an extrusion process, using a
mixture of the following materials:
HDPE - high density polyethylene produced with ethylene obtained from sugarcane alcohol.
PEBDL - linear low density polyethylene produced with ethylene obtained from sugarcane alcohol.
LDPE - low density polyethylene.
Mother mix - containing carbon black, antioxidant additives and anti-UV additives.
An amount greater than 75% of the first two mentioned materials produced with ethylene from a renewable source is used, thereby contributing to the environment.
There is no knowledge of any geomembrane that brings together all the constructive and functional characteristics that were mentioned above and that directly or indirectly that was as effective as the membrane object of the present invention.
The present invention having been described and illustrated, it should be understood that it can undergo innumerable modifications and variations in its form since such modifications and variations can not depart from the essence and scope of the invention as defined in the claim document.
