Abstract

Se describen máquinas fabricantes de hielo que utilizan aluminio como una alternativa al cobre en el evaporador de la máquina fabricante de hielo y también utilizan un enfriador/refrigerante alterno con el objetivo específico de proporcionar propiedades de transporte de transferencia de calor mejoradas y mayor capacidad calorífica que los enfriadores/refrigerantes de HFC convencionales. Opcionalmente, se usan compresores rotatorios en lugar de compresores de movimiento alternativo convencionales, mejorando más el desempeño para la máquina fabricante de hielo. Las máquinas fabricantes de hielo descritas mantienen una alta eficiencia y producción de hielo y proporcionan una eficiencia de energía igual o mejor que máquinas fabricantes de hielo comparativas. Al mismo tiempo, se obtienen ahorros en el costo del material para el evaporador, y como resultado de los efectos combinados de menor densidad y menor costo de metal/peso unitario ofrecido por el aluminio en comparación con el cobre.
