Abstract

Un método para extraer el cobalto del refinado de cobre. Primero, se proporciona un suministro de refinado que contiene al menos cobalto, cobre, hierro férrico y níquel. El refinado es pre-tratado por uno o todos de elevar el nivel de pH del refinado; remover los sólidos; y, reducir el hierro férrico a hierro ferroso. Sustancialmente se remueve todo el cobre usando primero una resina de intercambio iónico selectiva para cobre. Una segunda resina de intercambio iónico selectiva para cobalto y níquel se usa para remover el cobalto y el níquel. El cobalto y el níquel se eluyen separadamente de la segunda resina de intercambio iónico.
