Abstract
La solicitud se refiere a un método de RM para calificar un tumor utilizando un medio de elaboración de imagen que comprende 13C-piruvato hiperpolarizado. En particular, se refiere a un método para determinar la calificación de un tumor, comprendiendo dicho método a) la detección por RM de un tumor en un sujeto utilizando un medio de elaboración de imagen que comprende 13C-piruvato hiperpolarizado en donde son detectadas las señales de 13C-piruvato y sus metabolitos de alanina, lactato y opcionalmente bicarbonato que contienen-13C; b) utilizando dichas señales y opcionalmente la señal total de carbono para generar un perfil metabólico del tumor; c) comparar el perfil metabólico del tumor generado en el paso b) con un perfil metabólico conocido de un tumor de cierta calificación; y d) determinar la calificación del tumor basada en las similitudes y diferencias entre el perfil metabólico del tumor y el perfil metabólico conocido.
