Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un metodo para tratar una formación subterránea, que consiste en inyectar proporciones efectivas para el control de permeabilidad, de una composición gelificable in situ que contiene cantidades efectivas de: a) agua; b) cuando menos un polímero capaz de gelificar con un agente de reticulación dentro de un rango de pH adecuado para la gelificación; c) cuando menos un agente de reticulación que consiste de cationes metálicos polivalentes; y d) cuando menos un agente secuestrante caracterizado como biocida; en donde dichos cationes metálicos polivalentes están secuestrados por el agente secuestrante.
