Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento para tratar aceites residuales de petróleo pesado, caracterizado porque comprende los pasos de: precalentar un aceite residual de petróleo pesado que contiene metales pesados a una temperatura en la escala de aproximadamente 450 grados C; introducir el aceite residual precalentado a un recipiente desintegrador térmico adiabático que tiene porciones superior e inferior; introduciéndose dicho aceite residual precalentado en la porción superior del recipiente, y haciéndolo fluir hacia abajo a través del recipiente, en forma de un flujo de taponeo y hacia la porción inferior del recipiente; someter el aceite residual que fluye hacia abajo dentro del recipiente, a desintegración térmica, manteniendo dicho aceite residual a temperaturas elevadas en la escala aproximadamente de 390 a 450 grados C, y bajo una presión de cuando menos una atmósfera.
