Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un procedimiento continuo para la producción de un maleato de dialquilo sustancialmente libre de ácido a partir de una corriente de alimentación que contiene una cantidad mayor de maleato de dialquilo y una cantidad menor de maleato de monoalquilo, caracterizado porque comprende: a) suministrar continuamente la corriente de alimentación a una zona de destilación priamria; b) destilar continuamente la corriente de alimentación en la zona de destilación primaria, bajo condiciones de temperatura y presión que conduzcan a la descomposición térmica del maleato de monoalquilo, para producir anhídrido maleico y alcanol; c) recuperar de la zona de destilación primaria: i) una fracción de fondo que contiene maleato de monoalquilo y maleato de dialquilo en mezcla; ii) una fracción en forma de vapor que comprende alcanol; y iii) una fracción intermedia que está substancialmente libre de alcanol y que comprende una proporción mayor de maleato de dialquilo y una proporción menor de anhídrido maleico; d) redestilar continuamente la fracción intermedia iii) del paso c) en una zona de destilación secundaria para producir: i) una fracción superior que contiene anhídrido maleico y ii) una fracción de fondo que contiene maleato de dialquilo substancialmente libre de ácido; y e) recuperar la fracción de fondo ii) del paso d).
