Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a una composición de revestimiento flexible, de capa de base/capa transparente, útil en revestimientos de acabado automotores sobre substratos metálicos y plásticos, que se caracteriza en que la composición de capa base y la composición de capa transparente comprende cada una independientemente: A) poliéster modificado con uretano que contiene hidroxi (i) que tiene un número de peso molecuolar promedio (Mn) de entre alrededor de 1000 y aproximadamente 10,000 (ii) que tiene un número hidroxilo de entre alrededor de 30 a 200 y (iii) que contiene entre alrededor de 1 a 10 grupos de uretano por molécula y que se elabora a partir de reactivos que comprenden : (1) dio modificado con uretano hecho haciendo reaccionar (a) diol y (b) diisocianato, en donde el dio y el diisocianato se hacen reaccionar en una relación molar de alrededor de 4:1 a 4:3, (2) poliol que comprende cuando menos aproximadamente 5 por ciento en peso de triol; y (3) componente ácido seleccionado a partir de agente de reticulación y C) 0-60 por ciento en peso basado en el peto total de (A) y (B) de la composición, de promedio de entre alrededor de 15,000 y aproximadamente 40,000 y en donde el agente de reticulación de la composición de capa transparente es un agente de reticulación de poliisocianato y el agente de reticulación de la composición de capa de base es un agente de reticulación de amina-aldehído, y en donde la composición de capa de base comprende además pigmento.The present invention relates to a flexible, basecoat / clearcoat coating composition useful in automotive finish coatings on metal and plastic substrates, characterized in that the basecoat composition and the clearcoat composition comprise each one independently: A) hydroxy-containing urethane-modified polyester (i) having an average molecular weight (Mn) number of between about 1000 and about 10,000 (ii) having a hydroxyl number of between about 30 to 200 and (iii) containing between about 1 to 10 urethane groups per molecule and made from reagents comprising: (1) urethane-modified die made by reacting (a) diol and (b) diisocyanate, where the dio and diisocyanate are reacted in a molar ratio of about 4: 1 to 4: 3, (2) polyol comprising at least about 5 weight percent triol; and (3) acid component selected from crosslinking agent and C) 0-60 percent by weight based on the overall breastplate of (A) and (B) of the composition, averaging between about 15,000 and about 40,000 and wherein the crosslinking agent of the clearcoat composition is a polyisocyanate crosslinking agent and the crosslinking agent of the basecoat composition is an amine-aldehyde crosslinking agent, and wherein the base further comprises pigment.
