[Also in Division B1] In injection moulding apparatus, base resin, filler materials and reinforcing fibres introduced into a mixing chamber 9 (see also Fig. 4, not shown), are mixed by a screw 14 and continuously conveyed toward an outlet 11 of such a relatively capacity that only part of the mixture is forced out of the chamber, the rest being recirculated (see Division B1-B2). Several such chambers may be arranged in series, Fig. 3, and/or in parallel (not shown) to pass the mixture into a chamber 22 for injection into a mould 24, 25 by an hydraulic press 28. To ensure even distribution of the fibres during moulding each fibre has a length smaller than the smallest dimension of the mould, and the ratio between length and diameter of each fibre is between 100 and 500. The mould parts 24, 25 are pressed together by clamping springs slid on to the mould in the direction of arrows D.
