본 발명은 텔레비젼이나 비디오 카세트 레코더와 같은 일반적인 가정용 전기 기기의 조명상태를 표시해주는 형광 표시판의 밝기를 사용자의 기호에 맞게 개별적으로 조절할 수 있는 형광표시판의 밝기 조절회로 및 그 방법에 관한 것인 바, 그특징적인 구성으로는 형광표시판의 밝기 조절모드를 설정하거나 해제하기 위한 밝기 조정키와 밝고 어두움의 증/감을 선택하기 위한 증가키 및 감소키를 구비한 키입력수단과, 화면 표시장치에 광량을 공급하기 위한 형광표시판과, 형광표시판의 현재 밝고 어두움 정도를 온 스크린 디스플레이(이하는 OSD라 칭함)로 표시할 수 있도록 처리하는 OSD처리수단과, 상기 OSD처리수단의 출력신호를 화면상으로 나타내기 위한 화면 표시수단과, 상기 키입력수단을 스캔하여 형광표시판의 밝기 조절모드를 설정하거나 해제하고 형광표시판의 밝고 어두움 정도를 조절하면서 그 조절상태를 OSD로 화면상에 표시하도록 제어하는 주제어수단으로 구성함에 있으며, 또한 밝기 조정키가 설정되는가를 체크하여 밝기 조정모드를 설정하는제 1단계와, 상기 제 1단계에서 설정된 밝기 조정모드에서 밝기 증가키가 입력되면 형광표시판을 밝게 조정하면서 그 조정상태를 OSD로 화면에 표시하는 제 2단계와, 상기 제 1단계에서 설정된 밝기 조정모드에서 밝기 감소키가 입력되면 형광표시판을 어둡게 조정하면서 그 조정상태를 OSD로 화면에 표시하는 제 3단계와, 상기 제 1단계에서 설정된 밝기 조정모드에서 밝기 조정키가 다시 입력되거나 일정한 시간이 지나도록 아무런 키입력이 없으면 밝기 조정모드를 해제한 후 정상모드로 복귀하는 제 4단계로 이루어짐에 있다.The present invention relates to a brightness control circuit and a method of adjusting the brightness of the fluorescent display panel to display the lighting state of a general household electrical equipment such as a television or video cassette recorder individually according to the user's taste, Its characteristic configuration includes key input means including a brightness adjusting key for setting or releasing a brightness adjusting mode of the fluorescent display panel, and an increasing key and decreasing key for selecting increase / decrease of bright and dark, and the amount of light in the screen display device.
