본 발명은 흡수성 제품에 관한 것이며 특히 회음부에 사용하는 흡수패드(absorbent pad)에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 특히 개선된 유체 분배 구조를 갖는 여성용 생리대(feminine care pad)에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 흡수체, 사용시 신체부위에 가장 인접하는 투수층 및 흡수체의 반대편에 배치되는 불투수층으로 이루어진 생리대 또는 실금용 제품과 같은 흡수용 제품에 관한 것이다.
생리대의 사용시 생리대가 패드 사용자에 의해 정상적으로 이용되는 흡수능력보다 큰 흡수능력을 갖는 문제점이 있었다. 월경액(menstrual fluid)은 패드의 종방향 중간으로 배출된다. 또한, 패드 중간부의 액체는 하부 흡수부에 위치하기보다는 패드의 상부에 위치하게 된다. 이러한 패드 중간부에의 유체의 집중은 유체의 패드연부에서의 누설 또는 착용자의 동작으로 패드가 변형 되었을 때의 누설 등의 근원적인 결함의 원인이 된다.
이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 생리대를 체형에 매우 유사하게 제조하고 흡수 필요성이 최대로 되는 부분에 최대 흡수능력을 제공하기 위한 시도가 행하여 졌다. 그러나 그러한 패드에서도 측면 누설은 아직도 본질적인 문제점으로 남아 있다. 또한, 흡수체의 배면쪽이 아닌 흡수체의 상부 또는 신체측면으로의 월경액의 집중으로 인하여 사용되지 않는 패드의 흡수능력의 문제점은 여전히 남아있다.
통상의 생리대와 실금자용 패드에 대한 다른 문제점은 유체가 빠른 속도로 패드에 가해질 때 패드가 종종 충분한 속도로 유체를 흡수하지 못하고 유체가 패드의 측면으로 누설되는 것이다.
홀트만(Holtman)의 미합중국 특허 제4,333,462호에는 체액을 수용하고 흡수할 수 있는 중심 저장부(center reservoir)를 갖고 있는 패드가 기재되어 있다. 췌스키(Chesky)등의 미합중국 특허 제4,029,101호에는 유체를 패드의 중간부로 유입시키기 위한 종방향 중심부의 개방 슬로트(open longitudinal center slot)가 마련된 패드가 기재되어 있다. 췌스키등의 상기 패드는 패드 내의 측면에서 심재(wick material)에 대해 연신된 배플(elongated baffle)이 제공될 수도 있음이 또한 기재되어 있다.
패드내의 이용가능한 흡수체를 보다 효율적으로 사용할 수 있는 패드가 여전히 요구된다. 또한, 분비물이 전달되도록 정 위치를 제공하기 위하여 굽힘 및 비틀림에 대한 저항성이 개선된 패드가 요구된다. 또한 패드가 비틀렸을때 측면누설에 대한 저항성이 있는 패드도 요구된다.
본 발명의 목적은 신체 분비물을 흡수하기 위한 종래의 패드의 단점을 극복하기 위함이다.
본 발명의 다른 목적은 뭉침 및 비틀림이 감소되는 패드를 제공하기 위함이다.
본 발명의 또 다른 목적은 측면누설이 감소되는 패드를 제공하기 위함이다.
본 발명의 또 다른 목적은 흡수체를 충분히 사용할 수 있는 생리대를 제공하기 위함이다.
상기 목적들은 투수성 커버, 불특수성 배면 부재, 및 이들 사이에 위치하는 흡수체로 이루어진 패드를 제공함으로써 이루어진다. 패드는 또한 투수성 부재 및 흡수체 사이에서 흡수체 표면의 적어도 일부분상에 위치하고, 흡수체를 통하여 불투수성 배면 부재와 흡수체 사이의 구역까지 하향 연장되는 유체전달 또는 유체 이동 구조를 갖는다. 유체 전달 부재는 유체를 흡인(wick)하나 유체를 유체 이동 부재로부터 저장 및 보유하는 목재 플러프(wood fluff)와 같은 친수성이 높은 흡수체로 용이하게 전달하기 위해 적어도 약간의 소수성을 갖는 물질이다.
바람직한 유체 전달 부재는 폴리프로필렌과 배합된 레이온 또는 목면의 카디드 웹(carded web) 또는 펄프와 혼합된 멜트즐로운 폴리프로필렌의 카디드 웹으로 성형한다.
본 발명의 패드는 특히 생리대로 사용되는 신체 분비물의 흡수를 위한 선행기술의 패드에 비하여 많은 장점을 가지고 있다. 본 발명의 패드는 월경액을 패드를 통하여 저부로 유동시켜 유체가 패드 자체내에 보유되도록하여 착용자의 움직임으로 인하여 압출될 수도 있는 표면위치에는 존재하지 않도록 한다. 본 발명의 패드는 또한 선행 패드와는 달리 표면에 넓은 얼룩부를 형성하지 않으므로 더욱 깨끗한 외관을 제공하게 된다. 본 발명의 패드는 또한 많은 양의 유체를 흡수하여도 측면에서 누설될 가능
제1도는 본 발명에 따른 생리대(12)의 평면도이다. 패드는 신체측 커버(14) 및 종방향 연부(16) 및 (18)를 갖는다. 패드는 단부 (20) 및 (22)에서 접합된다. 제2도 및 제3도에 도시한 바와 같이 패드(12)에는 박리 스트립(peel strip)(24)가 제공된다. 박리 스트립(24)는 착용자의 속옷 내에 패드를 부착하기 전에 제거한다.
제4도는 제1도의 패드(12)의 선 4-4에 따른 단면도이다. 패드(12)에는 커버(14), 및 측면(16) 및 (18)과 배면(20)을 형성하는 불투수성 부재(15)가 제공된다. 박리 스트립(24)는 의류 부착 접착제(garment attachment adhesive)(26)을 덮는다. 패드(12)의 내부에는 흡수체(28) 및 (30)이 형성되어 있다. 유체 전달 구조체(fluid movement structure)(31) 및 (32)는 동일하거나 유사한 재료로 제조된다. 유체 전달구조체(31) 및 (32)는 I-비임형 단면을 갖는다. 최대의 유체 전달 능력을 갖기 위해 유체 전달/2 내지 2/3 정도 길이로 중심에 위치한다.
제6도는 본 발명의 다른 실시예의 단면도이다. 제6도의 양태에서 패드(46)에는 패드 전체를 감싸고 접착 연결부(50)에서 중첩되는 투수성 커버(48)이 제공된다. 패드는 불투수성 배플(52) 및 박리 스트립(54)를 갖는다. 박리 스트립은 의류 부착 접착제(56) 및 (58)의 두개의 평행선 선들을 덮는다. 대안으로서, 도시된 바와 같은 복수개의 선 대신에 하나의 넓은 접착제 밴드를 사용할 수도 있다. 흡수체는 두개의 지장 흡수체(60) 및 (62)로 구성된다. 유체 전달 또는 유체 이동 부재(66)은 신체측 표면(68) 및 흡수체(60) 및 (62) 사이에서 연장된다. 또한 유체 전달 부재(66)에는 흡수체 (60) 및 (62)사이에서 아래로 연장된 굴곡(70)이 제공되어 유체를 패드내로 분산시키고 저장 흡수체(60) 및 (62)의 기저부로 분산시키도록 한다.

본 발명은 유체가 패드 표면으로부터 커버와 벌크 흡수체 사이에서 패드의 중간부를 거쳐 벌크 흡수체 하부의 저면으로 빠르고 효율적으로 이동하는 Z 방향으로의 전달(Z-driection transfer)이 개선된다는 장점이 있다. 다음에 벌크 흡수체는 전달 부재로부터 유체를 용이하게 흡수할 수 있다. 또한 본 발명의 패드는 중간부에서 벌크 흡수체들 사이에 개방부를 가짐으로써 패드가 중간부에서 굴곡되어 신체부위에 보다 밀착될 수 있는 뭉침이나 비틀림을 감소시킬 수 있는 장점을 갖는다. 패드가 굴곡될 때 중간부가 상승하여 보다 양호한 접촉 상태를 이루므로, 유체 전달 부재는 패드와 유체의 초기 접촉을 원활하게 한다. 본 발명의 패드는 일반적으로 플러프 흡수체 주위에 티슈 외피 요소(tissue wrapping member)를 필요로 하지 않는다. 카디드 웹 또는 멜트블로운 유체 전달 부재를 사용함으로써 플러프의 티슈 외피를 필요로하지 않는 충분한 강도를 제공한다. 이는 외피를 필요로하지 않는다는 점에서 비용절감 효과를 가져온다.

Claims (14)

  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 전달 부재가 Ⅰ-비임형 단면을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 패드.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 패드가 또한 상기 전달 부재로 부터 유체를 흡수하는 벌크 흡수체를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 패드.
  6. 제5항에 있어서, 상기 벌크 흡수체가 상기 패드의 종방향 중심 저부로 연장되는 상기 전달 부재의 일부의 양측면에 위치하는 것을 특징으로 하는 패드.
  7. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 불투성 배면부재에 인접 위치하고 상기 전달 부재로부터 상기 지장 부재로 유체를 전달하기 위해 상기 전달 부재와 접촉되는 초흡수제를 포함하는 유체 저장 부재를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 패드.
  8. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 전달 부재가 폴리에스테르 섬유, 레이온 섬유, 폴리프로필렌 섬유 및 그들의 혼합물의 카디드 웹으로 구성되는 물질로부터 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 패드.
  9. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 전달 부재가 상기 패드의 1/2 내지 2/3의 길이로 연장되는 것을 특징으로 하는 패드.
  10. 제1항에 있어서, 신체측 투수성 부재와, 불투수성 배면 부재와, 그들 사이의 흡수체와 상기 투수성 부재 아래에서 상기 흡수체의 일부분 위로 연장되고 상기 흡수체를 통하여 연장되고 상기 흡수체와 상기 불투수성 배면 부재 사이로 연장되는 부재 전달 부재를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 생리대인 패드.
  11. 제10항에 있어서, 상기 유체 전달 부재와 상기 불투수성 배면 부재 사이에 초흡수체를 포함하는 저장층을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 패드.
  12. 제10항에 있어서, 상기 전달 부재가 상기 패드의 종방향 중심부상에 위치하는 상기 흡수체를 통하여 연장되는 것을 특징으로 하는 패드.
  13. 제12항에 있어서, 상기 유체 전달 부재가 상기 패드의 약 1/2 내지 2/3의 길이로 중심에 위치하는 것을 특징으로 하는 패드.
  14. 제10항에 있어서, 상기 유체 전달 부재가 I -비임형 단명을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 패드.
