Abstract

A current mode subscriber line interbase circuit (SLIC) is described for a telephone system in which the AC and DC impedances for the tip and ring connections of the SLIC are set separately. The subscriber uses the information from the tip and ring voltage sensing resistors RS1 and RS2 for the ground key detector for the line interface circuit (SLIC) to determine whether the telephone line is grounded at the ring side, for example when a ground key or fault occurs.
