Description

건축용 토제품의 제조방법
제 1 도는 본 발명 건축용 토제품의 제조공정단계를 나타낸 도면이다.
* 도면의 주요부분에 대한 부호의 설명
S1 : 제 1 공정(혼합공정) S2 : 제 2 공정(성형공정)
S3 : 제 3 공정(건조공정) S4 : 제 4 공정(소성공정)
본 발명은 점토와 고령토 및 황토등 흙으로 벽돌등과 같은 건축용 토제품을 제조하는 방법에 관한 것으로서, 특히 원재료로 되는 흙(점토에다가 톱밥등 순수연소물질이나 연소가능한 쓰레기등 산업폐기물 또는 흙에 혼합될 수 있는 제지공장이나 식품공장등에서 생성되는 가연성 슬러지(Sludge)를 첨가하여 균열이 없으면서도 가벼운 건축용 토제품을 제조하는 방법에 관한 것이다.
일반적으로 토제품이란 흙으로 만든 물건을 일컫는바, 예컨대 벽돌이나 타일등 건축자재, 접시등 사기그릇, 옹기, 도자기등은 모두 토제품들로서 이러한 토제품은 통상적으로 2회의 소성과정을 거치는 이른바 2회 구이로 제조되는 것이 대부분이다. 즉, 배토(杯土)의 성형 및 건조후 유약을 바르지 않고 1차소성(1회 구음)하고 냉각시킨다음 유약을 발라 2차 소성(2회 구음)을 함으로써 제조하고 있다. 이와같은 제조방법으로 제조된 토제품은 무게가 무겁고, 균열이 있다고 하는 결점 뿐만아나라 원재료인 배토의 사용량이 많다고 하는 결점, 2회의 소성으로 제조공정시간이 길다고 하는 결점 또한 있다.
물론 최근에는 2회의 소성을 거치지 않고 단한차례의 소성만으로 토제품을 제조하는 방법도 많이 제안되어 있으나, 이러한 1회의 소성으로 제조되는 토제품은 모두 제조시간의 대폭 단축이라는 효과가 있지만 이 제조방법도 원재료인 배토의 사용량이 많다고 하는 결점이 있을 뿐만아니라 제조된 토제품의 균열발생을 최소화할 수 없고 토제품의 무게가 무겁다고 하는 문제점이 있다.
본 발명은 상기한 종래 토제품 제조방법이 갖는 문제점들을 해결하고자 발명된 것으로, 원재료로 되는 배토(점토)에다 연소물질 희석제품인 순수연소물질이나 연소가능한 쓰레기등 산업폐기물 또는 가연성 슬러지(Sludge)를 첨가하고 단 1회 소성으로 토제품을 제조하여 소성시 다공질화로 균열이 없고 가벼우며 원재료인 배토의 량을 감소시킬 수 있으면서도 제조공정시간이 짧은 건축용 토제품의 제조방법을 제공함에 그 목적이 있다.
이하, 본 발명 건축용 토제품의 제조방법을 첨부도면을 참조하여 상세히 설명한다.
본 발명의 토제품 제조방법은 벽돌이나 타일등 건축자재, 접시등 사기그릇, 용기, 도자기등 모든 토제품의 제조방법에 응용할 수 있으나 설명의 편의상 건축용 토제품을 실시예로서 설명한다.
제 1 도는 본 발명 제조방법으로 건축용 토제품을 제조하는 과정을 보인 도면으로서, 먼저 토제품의 원료로 되는 흙(배토)를 선정하고 선정된 배토에 배토중량의 2/10(대략 20%정도)되는 량(습도 50%인 배토를 기준한 것임.)의 물을 넣어 물과 혼합한 다음 물과 혼합된 배토에다 배토중량의 0.1%∼20%정도의 연소물질(톱밥등 순수연소물질, 쓰레기등 가연성 산업폐기물, 가연성 슬러지등)을 넣어 혼합한다(제 1 공정 ; S1).
이어 상기 제 1 공정에 의해 이루어진 혼합물을 성형기에 넣어 필요로 하는 형상으로 성형한다(제 2 공정 ; S2).
그런후 상기 제 2 공정을 통해 형성된 성형물을 통상 열풍기에 넣어 대략 50℃에서 1일 정도 건조시킨다(제 3 공정 ; S3). 여기서 제 3 공정은 성형물을 대기중에 놓아 자연건조로도 가능하다 자연건조시는 건조시간이 길어진다고 하는 결점이 있게 된다.
다음에는 제 3 공정을 거쳐 건조된 성형물을 전기가마에 넣어 대략 800℃∼1,300℃ 온도로 10분∼1시간정도 소성한다(제 4 공정 ; S4). 여기서 소성공정인 제 4 공정은 가스가마나 또는 이른바 노고리가마에서 실시할 수 있으나 그렇게 하면 소성공정에 걸리는 시간이 길어지게 된다.
이상 설명한 바와같이 배토(점토)에 가연성 미세물질을 가한후 제 1 공정(S1)∼제 4 공정(S4)을 모두 거치게 되면 필요로하는 경량(다공)의 유리질 건축용 토제품을 완제품으로 얻을 수 있는바, 본 발명의 제조방법에 따르면 배토는 규소질 성형체 역할을 하고 배토에 희석된 가연성 미세물질의 첨가로 인하여 첨가된 양만큼 원재료인 배토의 양을 절감할 수 있을 뿐만아니라 첨가된 가연성 물질에 의해 제 3 공정(S3)에서 건조시나 제 4 공정에서 소성시 제품이 균열되지 않는 장점이 있으며, 제 4 공정인 소성공정에서 가연성 물질이 성형물내에서 타면서 열상승 효율로 연료가 절감됨과 동시에 연소자리에 미세공간이 생겨 성형물을 다공질화하게 되므로 제품의 무게가 매우 가벼워 제품 이동시 편리하고, 단일, 보온성과 방음효과가 있으며 탈때남는 무기질(칼슘, 칼리등)이 규소질과의 유기질을 만들게되어 방수성과 강도가 월등하며, 배토와 연소물질간에 상호화학적(유리질) 물리적(다공질) 합작기여를 하여 복합점토제품으로서 내구성이 강한 효과가 있다.
또한, 가연성물질로 사용하는 재료로는 제품에 공해없는 톱밥등 순수한 연소물도 있으나 가연성 슬러지 또는 쓰레기등 산업폐기물을 사용할 수 있으므로 자원이 무한하고 미세 슬러지상태를 그대로 사용할 수 있어서 경제가치가 크며 특히 최근 가장 심각한 사회문제로 되고 있는 쓰레기 등 산업 폐기물을 건축용 토제품 제조에 활용하게 됨으로써 슬러지나 쓰레기등 산업폐기물에 의한 환경오염문제를 줄여주는 등의 획기적인 효과도 있다. 뿐만아니라 토제품의 제조공정과정에서 발생한 불량품은 건축용 골재에 활용할 수도 있다.

Claims (1)

  1. 배토(杯土)에다 배토중량의 20% 정도의 물과 배토중량의 0.1%∼20%정도의 가연성 물질을 넣어 혼합하여 혼합물을 형성하는 혼합공정과, 상기 혼합물을 성형기에 넣어 성형하여 성형물을 만드는 성형공정, 성형물을 열풍기에 넣어 50℃에서 1일정도 건조시키는 건조공정, 상기 건조공정을 거친 성형물을 전기가마에 넣어 대략 800℃∼1,300℃ 온도로 10분∼1시간정도 소성하는 소성공정으로 이루어진 건축용 토제품의 제조방법.
