Abstract
Description
Claims (9)
- 알도오스를 제공할 수 있는 탄수화물을 에틸렌 글리콜로 전환시키기 위한 연속 방법으로서,
(a) 탄수화물을 용액 중에 혼합하는 단계;
(b) 수소를 반응기에 첨가하는 단계;
(c) 탄수화물 혼합물을 반응기에 상승된 온도에서 통과시키되, 상기 반응기가 주로 레트로-알돌 촉매를 포함하는 제 1 구역 및 환원 촉매를 함유하는 제 2 구역을 지니는 단계;
(d) 제 1 구역에서의 알도오스를 제 1 구역에서의 레트로-알돌 촉매에 의해 일부 또는 전부 글리콜알데하이드로 전환시키는 단계;
(e) 반응기의 제 2 구역에서 글리콜알데하이드를 에틸렌 글리콜로 전환시키는 단계;
(f) 반응기로부터 반응 생성물을 제거하는 단계;
(g) 임의로, 반응기 유출액의 일부를 반응 용매로서 사용되도록 반응으로 다시 재순환시키거나 용매용으로 회수된 글리콜을 사용하는 단계; 및
(h) 에틸렌 글리콜을 회수하는 단계를 포함하는 연속 방법. - 제 1항에 있어서, 반응기가 레트로-알돌 구역 다음에 결합된 레트로-알돌 촉매 및 환원 구역을 포함하는 방법.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 탄수화물들의 혼합물이 사용되는 경우, 상승된 반응기 온도가 탄수화물을 일부 또는 전부 단당류로 가수분해시키거나, 촉매 구역 전의 예열된 구역이 탄수화물을 일부 또는 전부 단당류로 가수분해시키는 역할을 하는 방법.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 촉매 구역 전의 예열된 구역이 탄수화물을 일부 또는 전부 단당류로 가수분해시키는 방법.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 환원 촉매가 니켈-레늄 (Ni/Re) 및 니켈-이리듐 (Ni/Ir)으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 방법.
- 케토오스를 제공할 수 있는 탄수화물을 프로필렌 글리콜로 전환시키기 위한 연속 방법으로서,
(a) 탄수화물을 용액 중에 혼합하는 단계;
(b) 수소를 반응기에 첨가하는 단계;
(c) 탄수화물 혼합물을 반응기에 상승된 온도에서 통과시키되, 상기 반응기가 주로 레트로-알돌 촉매를 포함하는 제 1 구역 및 주로 환원 촉매를 함유하는 제 2 구역을 지니는 단계;
(d) 제 1 구역에서의 케토오스를 제 1 구역에서의 레트로-알돌 촉매에 의해 알데하이드 및 가능하게는 다른 카보닐 함유 중간체로 전환시키는 단계;
(e) 반응기의 제 2 구역에서 중간체를 프로필렌 글리콜로 전환시키는 단계;
(f) 반응기로부터 반응 생성물을 제거하는 단계;
(g) 임의로, 반응기 유출액의 일부를 반응 용매로서 사용되도록 반응으로 다시 재순환시키거나; 용매용으로 회수된 글리콜을 사용하는 단계; 및
(h) 프로필렌 글리콜을 회수하는 단계를 포함하는 연속 방법. - 제 6항에 있어서, 환원 촉매가 니켈-레늄 (Ni/Re) 및 니켈-이리듐 (Ni/Ir)으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 방법.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 반응을 위한 용매의 일부로서 에틸렌 글리콜을 사용하는 단계를 추가로 포함하는 방법.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 환원 촉매의 일부 또는 전부가 탄수화물 공급원료에 첨가되는 방법.
