Claims (9)
- 화상을 표시하는 표시영역과 비표시 영역으로 구분된 제 1 기판, 액정층 및 제 2 기판을 포함하는 액정패널;상기 제 1 기판의 배면에 배치되어 광을 조사하는 백라이트 유닛;상기 제 1 기판의 제 1 영역에 배치되어 외부 광을 감지하는 제 1 센서; 및상기 제 1 기판의 제 2 영역에 배치되어 상기 백라이트 유닛의 광을 감지하는 제 2 센서를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 및 제 2 센서의 출력을 비교하는 비교부; 및상기 비교 결과에 따라 상기 백라이트 유닛을 제어하는 제어부를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 2 항에 있어서,상기 제어부는 상기 제 1 센서의 출력이 상기 제 2 센서의 출력보다 작은 경우, 상기 백라이트 유닛의 동작을 그대로 유지하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 및 제 2 영역은 상기 액정패널의 비표시 영역에 배치되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제 2 기판에는 광을 차단하는 블랙매트릭스가 형성되고, 상기 제 1 센서와 대응되는 영역의 상기 제 2 기판에는 외부 광이 입사되도록 상기 블랙매트릭스의 일부가 제거되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 및 제 2 센서는 박막트랜지스터인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 및 제 2 센서는게이트 전극;상기 게이트 전극 상에 형성되어 조사되는 광의 세기에 따라 전류량이 변화하는 반도체층; 및상기 반도체층 상에 형성된 소스/드레인 전극을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 상기 7 항에 있어서,상기 제 2 센서의 상기 게이트 전극은 소정의 홀이 형성된 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 기판의 제 1 영역에 배치된 제 1 센서와 제 2 영역에 배치된 제 2 센서로부터 각각 외부 광과 백라이트 유닛 광을 감지하는 단계;상기 제 1 센서의 출력과 상기 제 2 센서의 출력을 비교하는 단계; 및상기 비교 결과에 따라 상기 백라이트 유닛을 제어하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 구동방법.
