Claims (7)
- 적층된 복수 개의 액정 패널을 구비하고, 상기 복수 개의 액정 패널 각각에는 매트릭스 형태의 픽셀들이 배열되며, 각각이 색상 영역과 개구 영역으로 분할되는 적색, 녹색, 청색 서브 픽셀이 하나의 픽셀을 이루고, 상기 적색, 녹색, 청색 서브 픽셀의 상기 색상 영역과 상기 개구 영역은 적층된 상태에서 각각의 액정 패널마다 서로 어긋나게 위치하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 각각의 액정 패널은,제 1 투명 절연 기판, 상기 제 1 투명 절연 기판 상에 서브 픽셀 단위로 배치된 박막 트랜지스터 및 화소 전극을 구비하는 어레이 기판;상기 제 1 투명 절연 기판과 대향하는 제 2 투명 절연 기판, 상기 제 2 투명 절연 기판 상에 형성되어 상기 적색, 녹색, 청색 서브 픽셀을 이루는 컬러 필터층, 상기 적색, 녹색, 청색 서브 픽셀 각각의 사이에 구성된 블랙 매트릭스, 상기 블랙 매트릭스와 상기 컬러 필터층을 덮도록 형성된 공통 전극을 구비하는 컬러 필터 기판; 및상기 어레이 기판 및 상기 컬러 필터 기판 사이에 형성된 액정층을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 적층된 복수 개의 액정 패널의 상하부에는,편광축이 서로 직교하는 한 쌍의 편광 필름이 추가적으로 형성된 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 적층된 복수 개의 액정 패널은 2개이고,상기 색상 영역은 상기 적색, 녹색, 청색 서브 픽셀 각각의 1/2에 해당하는 영역인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 적층된 복수 개의 액정 패널은 N(N>2인 자연수)개이고,상기 색상 영역은 상기 적색, 녹색, 청색 서브 픽셀 각각의 1/N에 해당하는 영역인 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 적층된 복수 개의 액정 패널은,소정의 간격을 두고 서로 결합된 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 하나의 픽셀은,상기 적색, 녹색, 청색 서브 픽셀 이외에 백색 서브 픽셀이 추가되어, 상기 적색, 녹색, 청색, 백색 서브 픽셀이 서로 인접하도록 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
