Abstract

A mobile terminal having a touch screen and its operation method are provided to prevent malfunction of a mobile terminal caused by an erroneous input through a touch screen during call communication and reduce current consumption. A touch screen(10) implements a key input inhibition or lock mode unlock button. When a call is received, a screen controller(30) inhibits a certain key input through the touch screen(10) or changes the touch screen(10) to a lock mode. The unlock button is implemented on the touch screen(10) when a key input is prevented or a mobile terminal is changed to a lock mode through the screen controller(30).
