Claims (22)
- 백라이트 장치에 있어서,상기 백라이트 장치가, 광입력단부, 상부표면, 상기 상부표면과 대향된 바닥표면, 대향측면, 광입력단부와 대향된 먼 단부 및 전체 내부반사임계각을 가지는 시준도파관과;광입력단부와 먼단부사이의 시준도파관을 따라 분배되고 대향측면들사이의 부분적으로 연장되는 바닥표면내의 다수의 제 1 패싯과;약 10°이하의 상부표면에 대한 각 gamma 에서 먼단부로부터 이격되는 방향으로 상부표면을 향하여 수렴하는 제 1 패싯 바닥 단부르 f가지는 각각의 제 1 패싯과;시준도파관의 먼단부에 인접하여 배치된광 산란 및 반사표면을 포함하고;상기 제 1 패싯 바닥 표면이 시준도파관의 먼단부에 전체 내부로 반사되는 광입력단부로 광선이 들어가도록 하고, 먼단부에서 산란 및 반사표면이 광입력단부를 향하여 후방으로 입사하는 광선을 반사 및 산란하며, 상기 제 1 패싯바닥표면이 상부표면을 빠져나가기 위해 먼단부로부터 광선이 반사되도록 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 제 1 패싯 바닥표면이 상부표면에 대해 약 2 gamma 의 각도로 상부표면을 빠져나오도록 전체내부반사 임계각근저의 각도에서 먼단부로부터광선이 반사되도록 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 제 1 패싯 바닥표면이 시준도파관을 따라 먼단부로부터 거리의 함수로 변화하는 시준도파관의 바닥표면을 따라 분배되는 밀도 rho 를 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
- 제 3항에 있어서, 상기 밀도 rho 가 먼단부로부터의 거리가 증가함에 따라 증가하는 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 각각의 상기 제 1 패싯 바닥표면이 직립패싯바닥표면인 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
- 제 3항에 있어서, 각각의 제 1 패싯바닥표면이 직립패싯바닥표면이고, 상기 직립 제 1 패싯 바닥표면이 먼단부로부터의 거리가 증가함에따라 증가하며 각각 연속적인 제 1 직립 패싯바닥표면의 각 gamma 가 각각 이전의 제 1 직립 패싯 바닥표면에 대해 먼단부로부터 이격되는 방향으로 약간 증가하는 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
- 제 6항에 있어서, 각각의 직립 제 1 패싯바닥표면이 다른 각각의 직립패싯바닥표면과 평행한 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 백라이트 장치가 제 2 패싯바닥표면을 가지는 바닥표면내의 다수의 제 2 패싯과, 대향측면들사이에 부분적으로 연장되고 다수의 제 1 패싯들사이에 선택적으로 삽입되는 먼단부와 광입력단부사이의 시준도파관을 따라 분배되어지는 다수의 제 2 패싯을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
- 제 8항에 있어서, 각각의 제 1 패싯 바닥표면이 각각의 제 1 패싯바닥표면으로부터 빛이 누출되는 것을 차단하는 반사층을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
- 제 9항에 있어서, 각각의 제 1 패싯바닥표면상의 반사층이 금속화된 반사층인 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 각각의 제 1 패싯이 대향측면들사이의 백라이트 시준도파관을 전체적으로 가로질러 연장되는 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 다수의 제 1 패싯이 바닥표면을 따라 분배되어 시준도파관의길이를 통해 상부표면으로부터 방출되는 빛이 균일한 강도를 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 상부표면을 빠저나오는 균질화된 빛을 위해 시준도파관의 상부표면에 광학적으로 연결된 확산기를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 광입력단부로부터 반사를 감소하도록 시준도파관의 광입력단부에 광학적으로 연결된 비람버션 확산기를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 시준도파관에 광학적으로 연결된 공간 광 모듈레이터를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 시준도파관의 광입력단부에 광학적으로 연결된 광원을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서, 시준도파관의 상부표면에 광학적으로 연결된 액정디스플레이를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
- 액정 디스플레이장치에 있어서,상기 액정디스플레이장치가, 전방관찰표면과 대향된 후방표면으 가지는 액정요소와;광입력단부, 액정디스플레이의 후방표면에 면하는 상부표면, 상부표면에 대향된 바닥표면, 대향측면, 광입력단부와 대향된 먼단부 및 전체 내부반사 입계각을 가지는 시준도파관과;광입력단부에 인접하여 배치된 광원과;대향측면들사이에서 부분적으로 연장되고 먼단부와 광입력단부사이에서 시준도파관을 따라 분배되는 바닥표면내의 다수의 제 1 패싯과;약 10°이하의 상부표면에 대한 각 gamma 에서 먼단부로부터 이격되는 방향으로 상부표면을 향하여 수렴하는 제 1 패싯 바닥 단부를 가지는 각각의 제 1 패싯과;시준도파관의 먼단부에 인접하여 배치된광 산란 및 반사표면을 포함하고;상기 제 1 패싯 바닥 표면이 시준도파관의 먼단부에 전체 내부로 반사되는 광입력단부로 광선이 들어가도록 하고, 먼단부에서 산란 및 반사표면이 광입력단부를 향하여 후방으로 입사하는 광선을 반사 및 산란하며, 상기 제 1 패싯바닥표면이 상부표면을 빠져나가기 위해 먼단부로부터 광선이 반사되도록하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정디스플레이장치.
- 제 18항에 있어서, 액정디스플레이를 빠져나가는 광선을 위해 액정요소에 광학적으로 연결된 비람버션 제 1 확산기와;상부표면을 빠져나가는 균질화된 광선을 위한 시준도파관의 상부표면에 광학적으로 연결된 제 2 확산기와;광입력단부로부터 반사를 감소시키기위해 시준도파관의 광입력 단부에 광학적으로 연결된 비람버션 제 3 확산기를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정디스플레이장치.
- 제 17항에 있어서, 시준도파관에 광학적으로 연결된 공간 광모듈레이터를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정디스플레이장치.
- 제 18항에 있어서, 상기 액정디스플레이 장치가 제 2 패싯바닥표면을 가지는 바닥표면내의 다수의 제 2 패싯과, 대향측면들사이에 부분적으로 연장되고 다수의 제 1 패싯들사이에 선택적으로 삽입되는 먼단부와 광입력단부사이의 시준도파관을 따라 분배되어지는 다수의 제 2 패싯을 더 포함하고,상기 제 1 패싯 바닥 표면과 제 2 패싯바닥표면이 시준도파관의 먼단부에 전체 내부로 반사되는 광입력단부로 광선이 들어가도록 하고, 먼단부에서 산란 및 반사표면이 광입력단부를 향하여 후방으로 입사하는 광선을 반사 및 산란하며, 상기 제 1 패싯바닥표면이 상부표면을 빠져나가기 위해 상부표면에 거의 접선인 각도로 먼단부로부터 광선이 반사되도록 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정디스플레이장치.
- 백라이트장치에 있어서,상기 백라이트장치가, 광입력단부, 상부표면, 상기 상부표면과 대향된 바닥표면, 대향측면, 광입력단부와 대향된 먼 단부 및 전체 내부반사임계각을 가지는시준도파관과;광입력단부와 먼단부사이의 시준도파관을 따라 분배되고 대향측면들사이의 부분적으로 연장되는 바닥표면내의 다수의 제 1 패싯과;먼단부로부터 이격된 방향에서 상부표면을 향하여 수렴하는 만곡된 제 1 패싯바닥표면을 가지는 각각의 제 1 패싯과;제 2 패싯바닥표면을 가지는 바닥표면내의 다수의 제 2 패싯과, 대향측면들사이에 부분적으로 연장되고 다수의 제 1 패싯들사이에 선택적으로 삽입되는 먼단부와 광입력단부사이의 시준도파관을 따라 분배되어지는 다수의 제 2 패싯을 더 포함하고,상기 제 1 패싯 바닥 표면과 제 2 패싯바닥표면이 시준도파관의 먼단부에 전체 내부로 반사되는 광입력단부로 광선이 들어가도록 하고, 먼단부에서 산란 및 반사표면이 광입력단부를 향하여 후방으로 입사하는 광선을 반사 및 산란하며, 상기 제 1 패싯바닥표면이 상부표면을 빠져나가기 위해 상부표면에 거의 수직인 각도로 먼단부로부터 광선이 반사되도록 하는 것을 특징으로 하는 백라이트장치.
