Abstract

PURPOSE: An internet advertising system using screensavers is provided to receive information from a server through Internet whenever a screensaver is operated and to show it to users, without directly accessing an Internet site. CONSTITUTION: An Internet advertising system using screensavers consists of a server(10), a user computer(20), and a screensaver program(21). The server(10) stores information and transmits it to the user computer(20) through the Internet. The user computer(20), connected with the Internet, transmits and receives information. The screensaver program(21) receives information from the server(10) through the Internet and displays it on the user computer(20). If the user stops using the user computer(20) for a required time or clicks a program start button, the screensaver program(21) is operated. The screensaver program(21) accesses the server(10) through the Internet, receives information and shows it to the user. After seeing an advertisement displayed on the screen, the user selects the next advertisement or ends the screensaver program(21).
