Claims (84)
- 타겟 조직(target tissue)에 병변(lesion)을 생성하기 위한 절제 장치(ablation apparatus)로서,
절제 샤프트(ablation shaft)―상기 절제 샤프트는,
핸들(handle);
제1 부분;
절제 부분;
원위 팁(distal tip);
적어도 하나의 절제 에너지 전달 루멘(ablation energy delivery lumen);
적어도 하나의 절제 에너지 복귀 루멘(ablation energy return lumen); 및
실질적으로 상기 절제 샤프트의 길이를 따라 상기 핸들로부터 적어도 상기 절제 부분까지 연장되는 스타일렛 루멘(stylet lumen)을 포함함―; 및
상기 스타일렛 루멘 내로 제거가능하게 삽입될 수 있고, 형상으로 사전설정되는, 스타일렛(stylet)을 포함하고,
상기 스타일렛은, 상기 원위 팁 주위에 얼음이 형성되기 시작할 때 상기 스타일렛이 팽창하지 않도록 하는, 오스테나이트 종료 변태 온도(austinite finish transformation temperature)를 갖고,
상기 오스테나이트 종료 변태 온도는 섭씨 0도 미만인,
타겟 조직에 병변을 생성하기 위한 절제 장치. - 제1 항에 있어서,
상기 적어도 하나의 절제 에너지 전달 루멘 및 상기 적어도 하나의 절제 에너지 복귀 루멘은 외부 튜브(outer tube)가 둘러싸고 있는 내부 튜브(inner tube)를 포함하고, 이에 의해 상기 내부 튜브와 상기 외부 튜브 사이에 갭(gap)을 규정하는,
타겟 조직에 병변을 생성하기 위한 절제 장치. - 제2 항에 있어서,

절제 에너지가 극저온제(cryogen)에 의해 제공되는,
타겟 조직에 병변을 생성하기 위한 절제 장치. - 제7 항에 있어서,
상기 극저온제는 질소인,
타겟 조직에 병변을 생성하기 위한 절제 장치. - 제8 항에 있어서,
상기 질소는 근임계 질소(near critical nitrogen)인,

상기 스타일렛은 형상 기억 재료(shape-memory material)를 포함하며, 선택적으로 상기 형상 기억 재료는 니티놀(Nitinol)인,
타겟 조직에 병변을 생성하기 위한 절제 장치. - 제1 항에 있어서,
상기 절제 장치는 심방 세동(atrial fibrillation), 심방 조동(atrial flutter) 및 심실 빈맥(ventricular tachycardia)으로 구성되는 그룹으로부터 선택된 질환(condition)을 치료하는데 사용되는,
타겟 조직에 병변을 생성하기 위한 절제 장치. - 제1 항에 있어서,
상기 스타일렛의 적어도 원위 부분은 형성될 병변의 원하는 형상에 대응하는 형상으로 사전설정되는,
타겟 조직에 병변을 생성하기 위한 절제 장치. - 제1 항에 있어서,
상기 스타일렛은 그 길이를 따라 복수의 가요성들(flexibilities)을 갖고, 선택적으로, 상기 복수의 가요성들은 상기 스타일렛에 대한 기계적 변경들(mechanical alterations) 또는 상기 스타일렛의 일부분들로부터의 재료의 제거에 기인하는,
