Abstract
Description
도 1 은 스크롤링 바로 업데이트되고 있는 디스플레이 스크린의 일 예시적인 실시형태를 나타낸다.
도 2 는 확장하는 링으로 업데이트되고 있는 디스플레이 스크린의 일 예시적인 실시형태를 나타낸다.
도 3a 내지 도 3c 는 본원에 제시된 주제에 따라 디스플레이를 업데이트하도록 채용될 수도 있는 예시적인 파형들이다.
도 3d 는 디스플레이 픽셀들의 다수의 그룹들 및 본원에 제시된 주제에 따라 이들 그룹들을 업데이트하는 것으로부터 발생할 수도 있는 에지 효과들을 나타내는 도면이다.
도 4 는 본원에 제시된 주제에 따라 부드러운 업데이트를 위한 16 개의 천이들을 나타내는 파형 인코딩의 일례를 나타낸다.
도 5 는 본원에 제시된 주제를 이용하여 상부로부터 하부로의 스크롤링 바 효과로 백색에서 흑색으로의 천이를 생성하기 위해 필요한 단계들을 상세하게 나타내는 일례이다.
Claims (13)
- 복수의 로우들 및 칼럼들에서 포지셔닝된 복수의 디스플레이 픽셀들을 갖는 전기 광학 디스플레이로서,
상기 복수의 디스플레이 픽셀들을 N 개의 그룹들로 분할하기 위한 수단으로서, N 은 1 보다 큰 정수인, 상기 복수의 디스플레이 픽셀들을 N 개의 그룹들로 분할하기 위한 수단; 및
제어기를 포함하고,
상기 제어기는,
디스플레이 픽셀에 대해, 현재 광학 상태로부터 다음 광학 상태로의 천이를 호출하고, 그리고
제 1 파형을 픽셀들의 제 1 그룹에 제공하고 제 2 파형을 픽셀들의 제 2 그룹에 제공하도록 구성되며,
상기 제 1 파형 및 상기 제 2 파형은 각각 구동 섹션과 에지 클리어링 섹션을 갖고, 상기 제 1 파형 및 상기 제 2 파형은 시간에서 중첩하되 상기 제 2 파형의 상기 구동 섹션은 상기 제 1 파형의 상기 구동 섹션에 적어도 한 프레임 뒤처지고,
상기 제 1 파형의 에지 클리어링 섹션은 상기 제 2 파형의 에지 클리어링 섹션과 적어도 한 프레임을 공유하며,
상기 제어기는 상기 디스플레이 픽셀이 수행가능한 매 단일의 가능한 천이를 위해 N 개의 천이들을 할당하는, 전기 광학 디스플레이. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 제어기는 프레임 오프셋을 제공하도록 더 구성되고, 상기 프레임 오프셋은 설계된 천이 효과를 달성하기 위해 코딩된, 전기 광학 디스플레이. - 제 2 항에 있어서,
상기 프레임 오프셋은 상기 디스플레이 상에 상기 설계된 천이 효과가 진행됨에 따라 증가하도록 구성된, 전기 광학 디스플레이. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 제어기는 상기 복수의 디스플레이 픽셀들의 다수의 그룹들로의 상기 분할을 수용하기 위해 상기 제어기에 저장된 상기 복수의 디스플레이 픽셀들의 현재 상태를 변경하도록 가짜 업데이트 (fake update) 를 수행하도록 더 구성된, 전기 광학 디스플레이. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
픽셀들의 상기 다수의 그룹들 각각은 적어도 하나의 로우의 디스플레이 픽셀들을 갖는, 전기 광학 디스플레이. - 제 1 항에 있어서,
상기 전기 광학 디스플레이는 전기영동 재료의 층을 갖는 전기영동 디스플레이인, 전기 광학 디스플레이. - 제 6 항에 있어서,
상기 전기영동 재료는 유체에 배치되고 전기장의 영향 하에 상기 유체를 통해 이동 가능한 복수의 전기적으로 대전된 입자들을 포함하는, 전기 광학 디스플레이. - 제 7 항에 있어서,
