Abstract
[해결 수단] 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물이 스멕틱상으로 고정화되어 있는 위상차 필름으로서, 하기 조건A 및 B를 만족시키는 비액정 화합물을 포함하는 위상차 필름:
조건A : 분자량이 10000 이하이다;
조건B : T0-T1≤30℃;
T0은, 상기 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물을 포함하고, 상기 비액정 화합물을 포함하지 않는 조성물의 네마틱상과 등방상의 상전이 온도를 나타내고, 단위는 ℃이다.
T1은, 상기 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물과, 상기 액정 화합물의 질량에 대하여 6질량%의 상기 비액정 화합물을 포함하는 조성물의 네마틱상과 등방상의 상전이 온도를 나타내고, 단위는 ℃이다.

Claims (26)
- 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물이 스멕틱상으로 고정화되어 있는 위상차 필름으로서, 하기 조건A 및 B를 만족시키는 비액정 화합물을 포함하는 위상차 필름:
조건A : 분자량이 10000 이하이다;
조건B : T0-T1≤30℃;
T0은, 상기 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물을 포함하고, 상기 비액정 화합물을 포함하지 않는 조성물의 네마틱상과 등방상의 상전이 온도를 나타내고, 단위는 ℃이다.
T1은, 상기 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물과, 상기 액정 화합물의 질량에 대하여 6질량%의 상기 비액정 화합물을 포함하는 조성물의 네마틱상과 등방상의 상전이 온도를 나타내고, 단위는 ℃이다. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 비액정 화합물이, 하기 조건B-1을 만족시키는 위상차 필름;
조건B-1 : T0-T1≤10℃
T0 및 T1은 제1항과 동의이다. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 비액정 화합물이, 하기 조건C 및 D를 만족시키는, 위상차 필름.
조건C : 비점>T0;
조건D : T0'-T1'≤15℃;
T0은 제1항과 동의이다.
T0'는, 상기 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물을 포함하며, 상기 비액정 화합물을 포함하지 않는 조성물의 스멕틱상과 네마틱상의 상전이 온도를 나타내고, 단위는 ℃이다.
T1'는, 상기 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물과, 상기 액정 화합물의 질량에 대해서 6질량%의 상기 비액정 화합물을 포함하는 조성물의 스멕틱상과 네마틱상의 상전이 온도를 나타내고, 단위는 ℃이다. - 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물이 스멕틱상으로 고정화되어 있는 위상차 필름으로서, 하기 조건A 및 B를 만족시키며 가교환 구조를 갖는 비액정 화합물을 포함하는 위상차 필름:
조건A : 분자량이 10000 이하이다;
조건B : T0-T1≤30℃;
T0은, 상기 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물을 포함하고, 상기 비액정 화합물을 포함하지 않는 조성물의 네마틱상과 등방상의 상전이 온도를 나타내고, 단위는 ℃이다.
T1은, 상기 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물과, 상기 액정 화합물의 질량에 대하여 6질량%의 상기 비액정 화합물을 포함하는 조성물의 네마틱상과 등방상의 상전이 온도를 나타내고, 단위는 ℃이다. - 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
상기 위상차 필름이 상기 액정 화합물과 상기 비액정 화합물을 포함하는 조성물로 형성되고, 상기 비액정 화합물의 융점이, 상기 조성물의 네마틱상과 스멕틱상의 상전이 온도보다도 낮은 위상차 필름. - 제5항에 있어서,
상기 조성물의 네마틱상과 스멕틱상의 상전이 온도가 100℃ 이하인 위상차 필름. - 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
하기 식을 만족시키는 위상차 필름;
Re450/Re550<1
Re450은, 파장450nm에 있어서의 면내 리타데이션을 나타내고, Re550은 파장550nm에 있어서의 면내 리타데이션을 나타낸다. - 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
nx>ny=nz를 만족시키는 위상차 필름;
단, nx는 광학이방성층면 내에 있어서의 지상축 방향의 굴절률을 나타내고, ny는 광학이방성층면 내에 있어서 nx에 직교하는 방향의 굴절률을 나타내고, nz는 nx 및 ny에 직교하는 방향의 굴절률을 나타낸다. - 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 있어서,
상기 액정 화합물을, 네마틱상과 스멕틱상의 상전이 온도보다도 10℃ 이상 낮은 온도에서 고정화한 위상차 필름. - 제9항에 있어서,
상기 액정 화합물을, 네마틱상과 등방상의 상전이 온도 이상으로 가열한 후에, 네마틱상과 스멕틱상의 상전이 온도보다도 10℃ 이상 낮은 온도에서 고정화한 위상차 필름. - 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물과 하기 조건A 및 B를 만족시키는 비액정 화합물을 포함하는 조성물을 지지체 상에 도포하고, 상기 액정 화합물을 스멕틱상으로 고정화하는 공정을 포함하는, 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 기재된 위상차 필름의 제조 방법;
조건A : 분자량이 10000 이하이다;
조건B : T0-T1≤30℃;
T0은, 상기 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물을 포함하고, 상기 비액정 화합물을 포함하지 않는 조성물의 네마틱상과 등방상의 상전이 온도를 나타내고, 단위는 ℃이다.
T1은, 상기 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물과, 상기 액정 화합물의 질량에 대하여 6질량%의 상기 비액정 화합물을 포함하는 조성물의 네마틱상과 등방상의 상전이 온도를 나타내고, 단위는 ℃이다. - 제11항에 있어서,
상기 액정 화합물을, 네마틱상과 스멕틱상의 상전이 온도보다도 10℃ 이상 낮은 온도에서 고정화하는 위상차 필름의 제조 방법. - 제12항에 있어서,
상기 액정 화합물을, 네마틱상과 등방상의 상전이 온도 이상으로 가열한 후에, 네마틱상과 스멕틱상의 상전이 온도보다도 10℃ 이상 낮은 온도에서 고정화하는 위상차 필름의 제조 방법. - 제11항에 있어서,
상기 액정 화합물을, 40℃∼200℃로 가열한 후에, 25℃∼120℃에서 고정화하는 위상차 필름의 제조 방법. - 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 기재된 위상차 필름과, 제2의 위상차 필름을 갖는 적층체.
- 제15항에 있어서,
상기 제2의 위상차 필름이 nz>nx=ny를 만족시키는 필름인 적층체;
단, nx는 광학이방성층면 내에 있어서의 지상축 방향의 굴절률을 나타내고, ny는 광학이방성층면 내에 있어서 nx에 직교하는 방향의 굴절률을 나타내고, nz는 nx 및 ny에 직교하는 방향의 굴절률을 나타낸다. - 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물과 하기 조건A 및 B를 만족시키는 비액정 화합물을 포함하는 조성물;
조건A : 분자량이 10000 이하이다;
조건B : T0-T1≤30℃;
T0은, 상기 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물을 포함하고, 상기 비액정 화합물을 포함하지 않는 조성물의 네마틱상과 등방상의 상전이 온도를 나타내고, 단위는 ℃이다.
T1은, 상기 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물과, 상기 액정 화합물의 질량에 대하여 6질량%의 상기 비액정 화합물을 포함하는 조성물의 네마틱상과 등방상의 상전이 온도를 나타내고, 단위는 ℃이다. - 편광자와, 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 기재된 위상차 필름을 갖는 편광판.
- 편광자와, 제15항에 기재된 적층체를 갖는 편광판.
- 제18항에 있어서,
편광자의 표면에 상기 위상차 필름이 존재하거나, 편광자와 상기 위상차 필름과의 사이에 두께 10㎛ 이하의 필름이 존재하는 편광판. - 제19항에 있어서,
편광자의 표면에 상기 위상차 필름이 존재하거나, 편광자와 상기 위상차 필름과의 사이에 두께 10㎛ 이하의 필름이 존재하는 편광판. - 제18항에 있어서,
스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물과 하기 조건A 및 B를 만족시키는 비액정 화합물을 포함하는 조성물을 편광자의 표면에 도포하고, 액정 화합물을 고정화함으로써 얻어지는 편광판.
조건A : 분자량이 10000 이하이다;
조건B : T0-T1≤30℃;
T0은, 상기 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물을 포함하고, 상기 비액정 화합물을 포함하지 않는 조성물의 네마틱상과 등방상의 상전이 온도를 나타내고, 단위는 ℃이다.
T1은, 상기 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물과, 상기 액정 화합물의 질량에 대하여 6질량%의 상기 비액정 화합물을 포함하는 조성물의 네마틱상과 등방상의 상전이 온도를 나타내고, 단위는 ℃이다. - 제19항에 있어서,
스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물과 하기 조건A 및 B를 만족시키는 비액정 화합물을 포함하는 조성물을 편광자의 표면에 도포하고, 액정 화합물을 고정화함으로써 얻어지는 편광판.
조건A : 분자량이 10000 이하이다;
조건B : T0-T1≤30℃;
T0은, 상기 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물을 포함하고, 상기 비액정 화합물을 포함하지 않는 조성물의 네마틱상과 등방상의 상전이 온도를 나타내고, 단위는 ℃이다.
T1은, 상기 스멕틱상을 나타내는 액정 화합물과, 상기 액정 화합물의 질량에 대하여 6질량%의 상기 비액정 화합물을 포함하는 조성물의 네마틱상과 등방상의 상전이 온도를 나타내고, 단위는 ℃이다. - 제1항 내지 제4항 중 어느 한 항에 기재된 위상차 필름을 갖는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제15항에 기재된 적층체를 갖는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제18항에 기재된 편광판을 갖는 액정 표시 장치.
