Claims (10)
- 입력 영상의 RGB데이터의 채도에 따라 휘도 상향 게인을 설정하고, 설정된 상기 휘도 상향 게인을 기초로 상기 입력 영상의 RGB데이터를 상향 변조하여 제1 영상의 RGB데이터로 생성하는 단계;
상기 제1 영상의 RGB데이터에서 RGB데이터(RGB)의 공통 성분을 W 데이터(W)로 치환하고, 상기 공통 성분이 차감된 상기 RGB데이터(RGB) 각각의 데이터 값이 모두 “0” 이 아닌 데이터 값을 가지는 제2 영상의 RGBW데이터로 변환하는 단계; 및
상기 제2 영상의 RGBW 데이터에 대한 비트보다 낮은 비트가 되도록 제3 영상의 RGBW 데이터로 인코딩하여 저장하는 단계;
를 포함하고,
상기 제3 영상의 RGBW 데이터는 R 데이터(R), G 데이터(G), B 데이터(B) 각각의 데이터 값이 선택적으로 “0”이 되거나 W 데이터(W)의 데이터 값이 “K”(K는 자연수)인 것을 체크할 수 있는 마킹 비트(marking bit) 데이터를 포함하는 표시장치의 구동방법. - 삭제
- 제1 항에 있어서,
상기 휘도 상향 게인의 조정 범위는 디스플레이되는 영상의 채도에 따라 1 이상 2 이하로 설정하는 표시장치의 구동방법. - 제1 항에 있어서,
저장된 상기 제3 영상의 RGBW 데이터를 상기 마킹 비트(marking bit) 데이터에 기초하여 상기 제2 영상의 RGBW 데이터로 디코딩하는 단계;를 포함하는 표시장치의 구동방법. - 제1 항에 있어서,
상기 공통 성분이 차감된 상기 RGB데이터(RGB) 각각의 데이터 값은 적어도 하나가 “0”인 것을 표시장치의 구동방법. - 입력 영상을 표시하는 표시패널;
상기 입력 영상의 RGB데이터의 채도에 따라 설정된 휘도 상향 게인을 기초로 상기 입력 영상의 RGB데이터를 상향 변조하여 제1 영상의 RGB데이터로 생성하는 영상휘도분석부와,
상기 제1 영상의 RGB데이터에서 RGB데이터(RGB)의 공통 성분을 W 데이터(W)로 치환하고, 상기 공통 성분이 차감된 상기 RGB데이터(RGB) 각각의 데이터 값이 모두 “0” 이 아닌 데이터 값을 가지는 제2 영상의 RGBW데이터로 변환하는 영상변환부와,
상기 제2 영상의 RGBW 데이터에 대한 비트보다 낮은 비트가 되도록 제3 영상의 RGBW 데이터로 인코딩하는 영상 인코딩부로 이루어지는 타이밍 컨트롤러; 및
인코딩된 상기 제3 영상의 RGBW 데이터를 저장하는 프레임 메모리;
를 포함하고,
상기 제3 영상의 RGBW 데이터는 R 데이터(R), G 데이터(G), B 데이터(B) 각각의 데이터 값이 선택적으로 “0”이 되거나 W 데이터(W)의 데이터 값이 “K”(K는 자연수)인 것을 체크할 수 있는 마킹 비트(marking bit) 데이터를 포함하는 표시장치. - 삭제
- 제6 항에 있어서,
상기 휘도 상향 게인의 조정 범위는 디스플레이되는 영상의 채도에 따라 1 이상 2 이하로 설정하는 표시장치. - 제6 항에 있어서,
상기 타이밍 컨트롤러는
저장된 상기 제3 영상의 RGBW 데이터를 상기 마킹 비트(marking bit) 데이터에 기초하여 상기 제2 영상의 RGBW 데이터로 디코딩하는 영상 디코딩부;를 포함하는 표시장치. - 제6 항에 있어서,
상기 공통 성분이 차감된 상기 RGB데이터(RGB) 각각의 데이터 값 중 적어도 하나가 “0”인 것을 표시장치.
