도 3 및 도 4는 본 실시예들에 따른 표시장치의 서브픽셀 구조의 예시도들이다.
도 5 및 도 6은 본 실시예들에 따른 표시장치에서, 패널 결함 검출용 임피던스 소자(Z)의 타입 또는 센싱 방식(센싱 위치)의 타입에 따른 패널 결함 검출 시스템을 개략적으로 나타낸 도면이다.
도 7은 본 실시예들에 따른 표시장치의 패널 결함 검출 시스템에서 제어 스위칭 소자(CSW)의 동작 타이밍과 패널 결함 검출 타이밍을 나타낸 도면이다.

Claims (23)
- 다수의 데이터 라인 및 다수의 게이트 라인이 배치되고, 다수의 서브픽셀이 배치된 표시패널;
상기 표시패널의 구동에 사용되는 전압이 상기 표시패널로 인가되는 인가 노드와 상기 표시패널로 인가하기 위한 상기 전압을 공급하는 공급 노드 사이에 전기적으로 연결되는 제어 스위칭 소자; 및
상기 제어 스위칭 소자의 오프 시, 상기 인가 노드를 통해 흐르는 전류 또는 상기 전류에 따른 전압을 센싱하는 센싱 모듈을 포함하되,
상기 제어 스위칭 소자의 게이트 노드에 제어 신호에 해당하는 게이트 신호를 공급하여 상기 제어 스위칭 소자의 턴-온 또는 턴-오프를 제어하는 제어 모듈을 더 포함하는 표시장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 제어 스위칭 소자는 표시패널에서 비정상 전류를 검출하기 위해 턴-오프 되는 표시장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 제어 스위칭 소자는 미리 정해진 특정 밝기 이하의 화면이 표시되는 구간에서 턴-오프 되는 표시장치. - 삭제
- 제1항에 있어서,
상기 제어 스위칭 소자는 상기 표시패널 또는 인쇄회로기판에 위치하고,
상기 센싱 모듈은 상기 인쇄회로기판에 위치하거나 상기 제어 모듈의 내부에 포함되거나 데이터 드라이버의 내부에 포함되고,
상기 제어 모듈은 상기 인쇄회로기판에 위치하는 표시장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 인가 노드에 일단이 연결되고 상기 공급 노드 또는 그라운드 전압 노드에 타단이 연결되는 패널 결함 검출용 임피던스 소자를 더 포함하는 표시장치. - 제6항에 있어서,
상기 패널 결함 검출용 임피던스 소자는,
상기 인가 노드에 일단이 연결되고 상기 공급 노드에 타단이 연결되는 패널 결함 검출용 저항인 표시장치. - 제6항에 있어서,
상기 패널 결함 검출용 임피던스 소자는,
상기 인가 노드에 일단이 연결되고 그라운드 전압 노드 또는 공급 노드에 타단이 연결되는 패널 결함 검출용 캐패시터인 표시장치. - 제6항에 있어서,
상기 센싱 모듈은,
상기 제어 스위칭 소자의 오프 시,
상기 인가 노드의 전압 또는 상기 패널 결함 검출용 임피던스 소자의 임피던스 또는 상기 인가 노드와 상기 공급 노드 간의 전위차를 센싱함으로써, 상기 인가 노드를 통해 흐르는 전류를 센싱하는 표시장치. - 제9항에 있어서,
상기 제어 스위칭 소자의 오프 시, 상기 인가 노드의 전압이 임계 전압 이상이거나 상기 패널 결함 검출용 임피던스 소자의 임피던스가 임계 임피던스 이상이거나 상기 인가 노드와 상기 공급 노드 간의 전위차가 임계 전위차 이상인 경우, 상기 인가 노드를 통해 비정상 전류가 발생한 것으로 간주하여, 패널 결함 코드를 저장하거나 패널 결함 위치 정보를 저장하거나 패널 결함 대응 제어 신호를 출력하는 패널 결함 대응 처리부를 더 포함하는 표시장치. - 제6항에 있어서,
상기 센싱 모듈은,
상기 인가 노드의 전압 변화에 따라 턴-온 되어 패널 결함 검출 신호를 출력하는 패널 결함 검출 트랜지스터와,
상기 패널 결함 검출 트랜지스터의 게이트 노드와 상기 인가 노드 사이에 연결된 제너 다이오드를 포함하는 표시장치. - 제6항에 있어서,
상기 센싱 모듈은,
상기 인가 노드의 전압 변화 또는 상기 패널 결함 검출용 임피던스 소자의 양단 전위차를 센싱하기 위한 집적회로 또는 반도체 소자인 표시장치. - 제6항에 있어서,
상기 센싱 모듈은,
상기 인가 노드의 전압과 비교기준전압을 비교하는 비교기를 포함하는 표시장치. - 제6항에 있어서,
상기 센싱 모듈은,
상기 패널 결함 검출용 임피던스 소자의 양단과 연결되어, 상기 패널 결함 검출용 임피던스 소자의 양단 전압을 토대로 상기 인가 노드를 통해 흐르는 전류를 센싱하는 표시장치. - 제6항에 있어서,
상기 센싱 모듈은,
상기 인가 노드에 연결된 벅 컨버터 회로와 상기 벅 컨버터 회로에 포함된 트랜지스터에 흐르는 전류를 센싱하는 전원 집적회로를 포함하는 표시장치. - 제6항에 있어서,
상기 센싱 모듈은,
상기 패널 결함 검출용 임피던스의 양단 전압을 2개의 입력 전압으로서 입력받거나, 상기 패널 결함 검출용 임피던스의 일단 전압과 다른 전압을 2개의 입력 전압으로서 입력받고, 상기 2개의 입력 전압의 차이의 차동 이득 배에 해당하는 출력 전압을 출력하는 차동 증폭기와,
상기 차동 증폭기의 출력 전압과 비교기준전압을 입력받아 패널 결함 검출 신호를 출력 신호로서 출력하는 비교기를 포함하는 표시장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 표시패널이 유기발광다이오드와 상기 유기발광다이오드를 구동하는 구동 트랜지스터를 각각 포함하는 다수의 서브픽셀이 배치된 유기발광표시패널인 경우,
상기 구동 트랜지스터의 특성치를 측정하는 구간 동안 상기 인가 노드에 역 전압에 해당하는 기저전압을 공급하는 전원 공급부; 및
상기 구동 트랜지스터의 특성치를 측정하는 구간 동안 턴-온 되어 상기 인가 노드와 상기 전원 공급부를 전기적으로 연결해주는 스위칭 소자를 포함하는 표시장치. - 제17항에 있어서,
상기 전원 공급부와 상기 스위칭 소자 사이에 역 전류 방지 다이오드가 전기적으로 연결되거나,
상기 전원 공급부에 역 전류 방지 회로가 포함되는 표시장치. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 표시패널이 유기발광다이오드와 상기 유기발광다이오드를 구동하는 구동 트랜지스터를 각각 포함하는 다수의 서브픽셀이 배치된 유기발광표시패널인 경우,
상기 표시패널의 구동에 사용되는 전압은,
상기 구동 트랜지스터의 드레인 노드 또는 소스 노드에 인가되는 전압 또는 상기 유기발광다이오드의 애노드 전극 또는 캐소드 전극에 인가되는 전압인 표시장치. - 다수의 데이터 라인 및 다수의 게이트 라인이 배치되고, 다수의 서브픽셀이 배치되는 표시패널;
상기 표시패널에 특정 밝기 이하의 화면이 표시될 때, 상기 표시패널에서 비정상 전류의 발생 여부를 센싱하는 센싱 모듈; 및
일단이 인가 노드에 연결되고 타단이 공급 노드 또는 그라운드 전압 노드에 연결되는 패널 결함 검출용 임피던스 소자를 포함하는 표시장치. - 표시패널의 구동에 사용되는 전압이 상기 표시패널로 인가되는 인가 노드와 상기 표시패널로 인가하기 위한 상기 전압을 공급하는 공급 노드 사이에 전기적으로 연결되는 제어 스위칭 소자;
상기 제어 스위칭 소자의 오프 시, 상기 인가 노드를 통해 흐르는 전류 또는 상기 전류에 따른 전압을 센싱하고, 센싱 결과를 토대로, 패널 결함 여부를 검출하는 센싱 모듈; 및
일단이 상기 인가 노드에 연결되고 타단이 상기 공급 노드 또는 그라운드 전압 노드에 연결되는 패널 결함 검출용 임피던스 소자를 포함하는 패널 결함 검출 시스템. - 다수의 데이터 라인 및 다수의 게이트 라인이 배치되고, 다수의 서브픽셀이 배치되는 표시패널을 포함하는 표시장치의 패널 결함 검출 방법에 있어서,
상기 표시패널의 구동에 사용되는 전압이 상기 표시패널로 인가되는 인가 노드와 상기 표시패널로 인가하기 위한 상기 전압을 공급하는 공급 노드 사이에 전기적으로 연결되는 제어 스위칭 소자를 오프 시킴으로써, 패널 결함 검출 환경을 세팅하는 단계;
상기 제어 스위칭 소자의 오프 시, 일단이 상기 인가 노드에 연결되고 타단이 상기 공급 노드 또는 그라운드 전압 노드에 연결되는 패널 결함 검출용 임피던스 소자를 이용하여 상기 표시패널에서 상기 인가 노드로 흐르는 전류의 크기 또는 발생 여부를 센싱하여 센싱 결과를 토대로 패널 결함 여부를 검출하는 단계; 및
상기 표시패널에서 상기 인가 노드로 흐르는 전류가 발생하거나 상기 표시패널에서 상기 인가 노드로 흐르는 전류의 크기가 임계 전류 값 이상인 것으로 센싱된 경우, 미리 정해진 패널 결함 대응 처리를 수행하는 단계를 포함하는 패널 결함 검출 방법. - 제22항에 있어서,
상기 패널 결함 검출 환경을 세팅하는 단계 이전에,
특정 밝기 이하의 화면이 표시되는 구간, 서브픽셀 특성치가 센싱되는 구간, 또는 화상 구동 중 상기 특정 밝기 이하의 화면이 표시되는 구간을 패널 결함 검출 구간으로 인지하는 단계를 더 포함하는 패널 결함 검출 방법.
