Claims (22)
- 외광 투과 모드 및 외광 반사 모드 중 어느 하나의 모드로 작동하는 표시 패널에 있어서,
제1 기판, 상기 제1 기판의 내측면에 형성되는 적어도 하나의 제1 전극층, 및 상기 제1 기판의 외측면에 형성되며 제1 편광축을 가진 제1 편광 필름을 포함하는 상판;
제2 기판, 상기 제2 기판의 내측면에 형성되는 적어도 하나의 제2 전극층, 및 상기 제2 기판의 외측면에 구비되며 상기 제1 편광축에 수직 또는 평행한 제2 편광축을 가진 제2 편광 필름을 포함하는 하판;
상기 상판과 상기 하판 사이에 채워지는 액정층; 및
상기 액정층에 액정 구동 전압을 선택적으로 제공할 수 있도록 상기 제1 전극층과 상기 제2 전극층 사이에 연결된 액정 구동 전원;을 포함하며,
상기 액정층은, 상기 액정 구동 전압이 인가되지 않을 때 상기 액정층의 전체 영역에서 입사광의 편광 방향이 기 설정된 각도 만큼 변화되는 제1 배열, 또는 상기 액정 구동 전압이 인가될 때 상기 액정 구동 전압이 가해진 상기 액정층의 적어도 일부 영역에서 입사광의 편광 방향이 유지되는 제2 배열을 가지며,
상기 제1 편광 필름은 흡수형 편광 필름으로 구비되고 상기 제2 편광 필름은 반사형 편광 필름으로 구비되고,
상기 하판은 복수의 절연층에 의해 전기적으로 서로 분리된 복수의 제2 전극층을 포함하며
상기 제1 전극층은 상기 제1 기판을 전체적으로 덮으며, 상기 복수의 제2 전극층 중 어느 하나의 층은 상기 제2 기판을 전체적으로 덮고,
상기 복수의 제2 전극층 중 다른 층들은 상기 제2 기판을 부분적으로 덮고 서로 다른 형상을 가지는 표시 패널. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 기 설정된 각도는 90˚ 또는 270˚ 인 표시 패널. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 제1 편광축의 방향과 상기 제2 편광축의 방향은 서로 수직하며, 상기 표시 패널이 외광 반사 모드로 작동될 때 상기 액정층에 상기 액정 구동 전압이 제공되는, 표시 패널. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 제1 편광축의 방향과 상기 제2 편광축의 방향은 서로 평행하며, 상기 표시 패널이 외광 투과 모드로 작동될 때 상기 액정층에 상기 액정 구동 전압이 제공되는, 표시 패널. - 삭제

상기 복수의 제1 전극층 중 어느 하나의 층은 상기 제1 기판을 전체적으로 덮도록 형성되고, 상기 복수의 제1 전극층 중 다른 층들은 상기 제1 기판을 부분적으로 덮도록 형성된, 표시 패널. - 제13항에 있어서,
상기 어느 하나의 층은 상기 복수의 제1 전극층 중에서 상기 제1 전극층에 가장 가깝게 배치되는 층인, 표시 패널. - 제14항에 있어서,
상기 다른 층들의 형상들은 서로 다른, 표시 패널. - 삭제

상기 제2 표시 패널은,
제1 기판, 상기 제1 기판의 내측면에 형성되는 적어도 하나의 제1 전극층, 및 상기 제1 기판의 외측면에 형성되며 제1 편광축을 가진 제1 편광 필름을 포함하는 상판;
제2 기판, 상기 제2 기판의 내측면에 형성되는 적어도 하나의 제2 전극층, 및 상기 제2 기판의 외측면에 구비되며 상기 제1 편광축에 수직 또는 평행한 제2 편광축을 가진 제2 편광 필름을 포함하는 하판;
상기 상판과 상기 하판 사이에 채워지는 액정층; 및
상기 액정층에 액정 구동 전압을 선택적으로 제공할 수 있도록 상기 제1 전극층과 상기 제2 전극층 사이에 연결된 액정 구동 전원;을 포함하며,
상기 액정층은, 상기 액정 구동 전압이 인가되지 않을 때 상기 액정층의 전체 영역에서 입사광의 편광 방향이 기 설정된 각도 만큼 변화되는 제1 배열, 또는 상기 액정 구동 전압이 인가될 때 상기 액정 구동 전압이 가해진 상기 액정층의 적어도 일부 영역에서 입사광의 편광 방향이 유지되는 제2 배열을 가지며,
상기 제1 편광 필름은 흡수형 편광 필름으로 구비되고 상기 제2 편광 필름은 반사형 편광 필름으로 구비되고,
상기 하판은 복수의 절연층에 의해 전기적으로 서로 분리된 복수의 제2 전극층을 포함하며
상기 제1 전극층은 상기 제1 기판을 전체적으로 덮으며, 상기 복수의 제2 전극층 중 어느 하나의 층은 상기 제2 기판을 전체적으로 덮고,
상기 복수의 제2 전극층 중 다른 층들은 상기 제2 기판을 부분적으로 덮고 서로 다른 형상을 가지는 표시 장치. - 제19항에 있어서,
상기 기 설정된 각도는 90˚ 또는 270˚ 인 표시 장치. - 제19항에 있어서,
상기 제2 표시 패널은, 상기 제1 표시 패널이 켜졌을 때 상기 외광 투과 모드로 작동하며 상기 제2 표시 패널이 꺼졌을 때 상기 외광 반사 모드로 작동하는, 표시 장치. - 제19항에 있어서,
상기 표시 장치는 텔레비젼인, 표시 장치.
