도 3a 및 도 3b는 각각 합성된 폴리스티렌 입자 및 18 시간 동안 설폰화 처리를 거친 설폰화 폴리스티렌 입자를 보여주는 SEM 사진이고,
도 4a 내지 도 4d는 각각 설폰화 처리전 폴리스티렌(a) 및 상이한 설폰화 처리 시간(2 시간, 5 시간 및 18 시간)을 거친 설폰화 폴리스티렌(b 내지 d)에 대하여 광 산란에 의하여 측정된 입자의 사이즈 분포를 나타내는 그래프이고,
도 5는 설폰화 처리 전 폴리스티렌(a) 및 상이한 설폰화 처리 시간(2 시간, 5 시간 및 18 시간)을 거친 설폰화 폴리스티렌(b 내지 d)에 대한 FT-IR 스펙트럼이고,

Claims (20)
- a) 가교되지 않은 폴리스티렌 입자를 제공하는 단계;
b) 상기 폴리스티렌 입자를 설폰화 처리하여 이의 표면을 설폰화하는 단계;
c) 상기 설폰화 폴리스티렌 입자의 수 분산물을 형성한 후에 아크릴계단량체를 첨가하여 교반 하에서 물을 연속 상으로 하고 아크릴계 단량체 액적을 함유하는 에멀션을 형성하는 단계, 여기서 상기 에멀션 내 아크릴계 단량체 액적의 적어도 일부는 상기 설폰화 폴리스티렌 입자와 접촉된 상태로 존재함;
d) 상기 에멀션 내 아크릴계 단량체 및 수분을 상기 설폰화 폴리스티렌 입자 내로 침투시키고 내부 상 분리를 유도하기 위하여, 상기 에멀션을 소정 시간동안 유지하여 설폰화 폴리스티렌 입자를 팽윤시키는 단계; 및
e) 상기 팽윤된 설폰화 폴리스티렌 입자에 대하여 고에너지를 조사하여 상기 침투된 아크릴계 단량체를 중합시킴으로써 설폰화 폴리스티렌 입자 내에 다공성 복합 구조를 형성하는 단계;
를 포함하며,
여기서, 상기 설폰화 폴리스티렌 입자의 설폰화도는 10 내지 50% 범위이고, 그리고
상기 단계 d)는 상기 설폰화 폴리스티렌 입자 내부에서, 상기 침투된 수분이 상 분리에 의하여 다공성에 대응하는 포어 형성 공간을 제공하는 다수의 액적 또는 도메인 형태로 존재하는 한편, 상기 침투된 아크릴계 단량체는 폴리스티렌과 분리되지 않은 상태로 존재하도록 수행됨으로써 상기 단계 e)에서 폴리스티렌과 함께 복합 고분자를 형성하는 다공성 고분자 복합 입자를 제조하는 방법. - 제1항에 있어서, f) 상기 중합 생성물을 건조시켜 상기 다공성 복합 구조 내에 존재하는 수분을 제거하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 단계 a)에서 제공되는 폴리스티렌 입자의 사이즈(직경)은 1 내지 2.5 ㎛ 범위인 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 단계 a)에서 제공되는 폴리스티렌 입자의 분자량(Mw)은 10000 내지 30000 범위인 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 단계 a)에서 제공되는 폴리스티렌은 반응 매질로서 수성 매질 내에 스티렌계 단량체를 연속적 또는 단계적으로 첨가하여 중합 반응시킴으로써 제조되며, 상기 수성 매질은 물 또는 물과 알코올의 혼합 매질인 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 스티렌계 단량체는 스티렌, p-메틸스티렌, m-메틸스티렌, p-에틸스티렌, m-에틸스티렌, p-클로로스티렌, m-클로로스티렌, p-클로로메틸스티렌, m-클로로메틸스티렌, 스티렌 설폰산, p-t-부톡시스티렌, m-t-부톡시스티렌, 플루오로스티렌, 알파-메틸스티렌, 비닐톨루엔, 클로로스티렌 및 이의 조합으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 단계 b)는 상기 폴리스티렌 입자를 황산과 접촉하는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제7항에 있어서, 상기 단계 b)는 35 내지 50℃에서 1 내지 20 시간 동안 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 단계 c)에서 수 분산물 내 설폰화 폴리스티렌 입자의 함량은 2 내지 10 mg/mL 범위인 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 단계 c)에서 아크릴계 단량체 : 수 분산물의 체적 비는 1 : 5 내지 25 범위인 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 단계 c)에서 형성된 아크릴계 단량체 액적의 사이즈는 1 내지 30 ㎛ 범위인 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 아크릴계 단량체는 (메타)아크릴레이트, 메틸(메타)아크릴레이트, 에틸(메타)아크릴레이트, 프로필(메타)아크릴레이트, 이소프로필(메타)아크릴레이트, 부틸(메타)아크릴레이트, n-부틸(메타)아크릴레이트, t-부틸(메타)아크릴레이트, 펜틸(메타)아크릴레이트, 헥실(메타)아크릴레이트, 2-에틸헥실(메타)아크릴레이트, 에틸부틸(메타)아크릴레이트, 옥틸(메타)아크릴레이트, 이소옥틸(메타)아크릴레이트, 이소노닐(메타)아크릴레이트, 라우릴(메타)아크릴레이트 및 테트라데실(메타)아크릴레이트로 이루어지는 군으로부터 1 또는 2 이상 선택되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 단계 c)는 피커링 에멀션을 형성하지 않는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 단계 d)는 10 내지 30 시간 동안 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 단계 e)에서 고에너지는 감마선이고, 이의 총선량은 20 내지 50 kGy 범위인 것을 특징으로 하는 다공성 고분자 복합 입자를 제조하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 다공성 복합 고분자 입자는 4 내지 20 ㎛의 사이즈(평균 입경)를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 다공성 복합 고분자 입자는,
4 내지 40 ㎡/g의 비표면적(BET 비표면적), 및
0.01 내지 0.1 ㎤/g의 포어 체적(BJH 포어 체적) 중 적어도 하나를 충족하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법. - 제1항에 있어서, 상기 다공성 복합 고분자 입자는 80 nm 내지 2.5 ㎛의 포어 사이즈를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 단계 d)에 의하여 팽윤된 설폰화 폴리스티렌 입자의 직경은 2 내지 20 ㎛ 범위인 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
