Claims (15)
- 수성 잉크 비히클(aqueous ink vehicle); 및
입자 각각이 외표면을 가지는 금속 산화물 입자 또는 혼합 금속 산화물 입자; 및
상기 각각의 입자의 외표면에 부착되어, 상기 외표면 위에 코팅을 형성하는, 복수의 반응된 분산제 분자들(reacted dispersant molecules)
을 포함하는, 상기 수성 잉크 비히클 내로 혼입되는 안료
를 포함하는 잉크젯 잉크로서,
상기 복수의 반응된 분산제 분자들은, 상기 반응된 분산제 분자들의 실라놀 연결기를 통하여 상기 각각의 입자의 외표면에 부착되고,
상기 코팅이 상기 금속 산화물 입자 또는 상기 혼합 금속 산화물 입자의 wt%에 대하여 10 wt% 내지 50 wt% 범위의 양으로 존재하는, 잉크젯 잉크. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 금속 산화물 입자 또는 상기 혼합 금속 산화물 입자 각각은 0.1 ㎛ 내지 1 ㎛ 범위의 입자 크기를 가지는, 잉크젯 잉크. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 금속 산화물 입자 또는 상기 혼합 금속 산화물 입자는 1.6 내지 3.0의 굴절률을 가지는 금속 산화물 또는 혼합 금속 산화물로부터 선택되는, 잉크젯 잉크. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 복수의 반응된 분산제 분자들은 상기 안료가 상기 수성 잉크 비히클 내에 분산가능하도록 하는 친수성 부분을 포함하는, 잉크젯 잉크. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 복수의 반응된 분산제 분자들은 수용성 폴리에테르 사슬, 포스포네이트, 및 카복실레이트를 함유하는 반응성 분산제(reactive dispersant)로부터 선택되는 복수의 반응성 분산제 분자들들의 반응 생성물인, 잉크젯 잉크. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 금속 산화물은 지르코늄 산화물, 알루미늄 산화물, 하프늄 산화물, 니오븀 산화물, 아연 산화물, 디스프로슘 산화물, 탄탈럼 산화물, 및 이트륨 산화물로부터 선택되거나, 또는 상기 혼합 금속 산화물은 Bi12SiO20, PbTiO3, SrTiO3, ZrY2O5, AlPO4, 및 BaTiO3로부터 선택되는, 잉크젯 잉크. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 안료는 상기 잉크젯 잉크의 1 wt% 내지 40 wt% 범위의 양으로 존재하는, 잉크젯 잉크. - 제1항에 있어서,
상기 복수의 반응된 분산제 분자들의 존재는, 상기 안료가 상기 잉크젯 잉크의 미사용 시간 동안 상기 안료의 침강시 상기 수성 잉크 비히클 내에 재분산가능하도록, 상기 안료의 응집을 방지하는, 잉크젯 잉크. - 안료의 제조 방법으로서,
금속 산화물 입자 또는 혼합 금속 산화물 입자 및 반응성 분산제 분자들을 수성 매질에 첨가하는 단계;
상기 수성 매질 내 상기 반응성 분산제 분자들의 용해 동안, 상기 수성 매질 내에 상기 반응성 분산제 분자들 각각의 가수분해성 알콕시실란 모이어티를 가수분해하여, 각각이 실라놀기를 포함하는 반응된 분산제 분자들을 형성하는 단계; 및
상기 반응된 분산제 분자들 중 일부의 실라놀기를 상기 금속 산화물 입자 또는 상기 혼합 금속 산화물 입자의 히드록실기와 반응시켜, 상기 반응된 분산제 분자들의 일부를 상기 금속 산화물 입자 또는 상기 혼합 금속 산화물 입자에 결합시키는 단계
를 포함하고,
상기 금속 산화물 입자 또는 상기 혼합 금속 산화물 입자 각각은 히드록실기를 포함하고, 상기 반응성 분산제 분자들 각각은 가수분해성 알콕시실란 모이어티(moiety)를 포함하는 방법. - 제9항에 있어서,
미결합된 반응된 분산제 분자들의 실라놀기를 상기 금속 산화물 입자 또는 상기 혼합 금속 산화물 입자에 결합된 반응된 분산제 분자들의 일부의 히드록실기와 반응시켜, 상기 미결합된 반응된 분산제 분자들을 상기 반응된 분산제 분자들의 일부에 결합시키는 단계를 추가로 포함하는, 방법. - 제9항에 있어서,
상기 반응성 분산제 분자들의 가수분해성 알콕시실란 모이어티는 식 -Si(OR)3를 가지고, 상기 식에서 R은 CH3 또는 C2H5인, 방법. - 제9항에 있어서,
상기 반응성 분산제 분자들은 구조식 I, II, III으로부터 선택되는, 방법:
i) 구조식 I:

ii) 구조식 II:
