Abstract
Description
Claims (10)
- 액정패널;상기 액정패널에 광을 제공하며 복수의 광원을 포함하는 백라이트유닛; 및상기 액정패널에 입력된 영상 데이터신호에 대한 글로벌 디밍 결과값과 로컬 디밍 결과값을 산출하고, 상기 영상 데이터신호에 대한 블록별 평균화상레벨(Average Picture Level, APL)을 분석하고, 상기 산출된 글로벌 디밍 결과값, 로컬 디밍 결과값 및 상기 분석된 블록별 평균화상레벨을 이용하여 컨벡스조합(Convex Combination) 파라미터를 결정하여 상기 백라이트유닛의 보정디밍값과 상기 영상 데이터신호의 영상보정값을 생성하는 영상보정부를 포함하고,상기 영상보정부는 상기 평균화상레벨을 산출하고, 상기 산출된 평균화상레벨에서 인접하는 블록 간의 차분값을 분석하며,상기 보정디밍값은 하기 수학식으로 정의되며,상기 dim(i,j)는 상기 백라이트유닛의 디밍값이고, 상기 dimGD는 글로벌 디밍시 상기 백가이트유닛의 구동정도이며, 상기 dimLD(i,j)는 로컬 디밍시 광원의 위치에 따른 상기 백라이트유닛의 구동정도이고, 상기 α는 0 ≤α≤ 1의 관계를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 삭제
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 영상보정부는,상기 산출된 평균화상레벨에서 인접하는 블록 간의 휘도 차가 크면 상기 글로벌 디밍 결과값의 가중치를 높이고,상기 산출된 평균화상레벨에서 인접하는 블록 간의 휘도 차가 적으면 상기 로컬 디밍 결과값에 가중치를 높이는 액정표시장치.
- 삭제
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 α는,상기 차분값이 작을 경우 0 ~ k(k는 0 초과 실수를 포함) 값을 갖고,상기 차분값이 클 경우 k ~ 1 값을 갖는 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 영상보정부는,상기 글로벌 디밍 결과값을 산출하는 글로벌 디밍 결과값 산출부와,상기 로컬 디밍 결과값을 산출하는 로컬 디밍 결과값 산출부와,상기 평균화상레벨을 산출하는 블록별 평균화상레벨 산출부와,상기 산출된 평균화상레벨에서 인접하는 블록 간의 차분값을 분석하는 평균화상레벨의 차분값 분석부와,상기 산출된 글로벌 디밍 결과값, 로컬 디밍 결과값 및 상기 차분값을 이용하여 상기 컨벡스조합 파라미터를 결정하는 컨벡스조합 파라미터 결정부를 포함하는 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 백라이트유닛의 보정디밍값을 기초로 상기 백라이트유닛을 구동하는 백라이트유닛 구동부와,상기 백라이트유닛의 보정디밍값을 기초로 블록별 화소 보정량을 산출하여 상기 영상보정값을 화소별로 생성하는 보정량 조절부를 포함하는 액정표시장치.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 영상보정부는,상기 영상 데이터신호가 동화상일 때, 상기 동화상의 레터박스 부분의 낮은 계조를 분석하여 상기 로컬 디밍 결과값의 가중치 대비 상기 글로벌 디밍 결과값의 가중치를 높이는 액정표시장치.
- 액정패널;상기 액정패널에 광을 제공하며 복수의 광원을 포함하며 글로벌 디밍 방식과 로컬 디밍 방식으로 구동하는 백라이트유닛; 및상기 액정패널에 입력된 영상 데이터신호에 대한 낮은 계조를 분석하여 글로벌 디밍값과 로컬 디밍값 중 하나의 가중치를 달리하여 상기 백라이트유닛의 디밍값을 생성하는 영상보정부를 포함하고,상기 디밍값은 하기 수학식으로 정의되며,상기 dim(i,j)는 상기 백라이트유닛의 디밍값이고, 상기 dimGD는 글로벌 디밍시 상기 백가이트유닛의 구동정도이며, 상기 dimLD(i,j)는 로컬 디밍시 광원의 위치에 따른 상기 백라이트유닛의 구동정도이고, 상기 α는 0 ≤α≤ 1의 관계를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치.
- 제9항에 있어서,상기 영상보정부는,상기 영상 데이터신호가 동화상일 때, 상기 동화상의 레터박스 부분의 낮은 계조를 분석하여 상기 로컬 디밍값의 가중치 대비 상기 글로벌 디밍값의 가중치를 높이는 액정표시장치.
