Description
Claims (4)
- 상변화 잉크 화상 장치의 프린트헤드 조립체에 통로를 통하여 압력 소스가 유체 연결되고, 상기 프린트헤드 조립체는 잉크 비말들을 잉크 수신기상에 분사하기 위한 복수의 잉크젯을 포함하며, 상기 통로가 개방 및 폐쇄하는 밸브를 구비한 개구부를 갖는, 상변화 잉크 화상 장치를 작동시키기 위한 방법으로서,상기 밸브를 개방 및 폐쇄함으로써, 상기 압력 소스로부터 압력 펄스를 상기 프린트헤드 조립체로 전달하고, 상기 압력 펄스는 상기 밸브가 폐쇄 상태일 때 퍼지 압력이 상기 프린트헤드 조립체로 전달되고, 상기 밸브가 개방 상태일 때 보조 압력이 상기 프린트헤드 조립체로 전달되는 압력 펄스이고, 상기 퍼지 압력은 상기 보조 압력보다 크고, 상기 압력 펄스를 갖는 펄스 지속 기간 및 크기(magnitude)는 상기 압력 펄스가 상기 복수의 잉크젯으로부터 잉크를 분사하지 않고 상기 복수의 잉크젯으로부터 잉크를 팽창시키는 동시에, 상기 복수의 잉크젯 내의 잉크의 메니스커스(meniscus)를 진동시키는 펄스 지속 기간 및 크기인 것을 특징으로 하는 상변화 잉크 화상 장치 작동 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 압력 펄스는 0.1 내지 8 psi(pound per squar inch) 사이의 압력으로 전달되며, 상기 펄스의 지속 기간은 0.05초 내지 1.5초 사이인, 상변화 잉크 화상 장치 작동 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 압력 펄스 열(pressure pulse train)을 상기 프린트헤드 조립체로 전달하기 위해 상기 압력 소스를 활성화시키는 것을 추가로 포함하며,상기 압력 펄스 열은 복수의 압력 펄스들을 포함하며, 상기 복수의 압력 펄스들 각각은 0.1 내지 8 psi 사이의 압력으로 전달되는, 상변화 잉크 화상 장치 작동 방법.
- 제 3 항에 있어서, 상기 압력 펄스 열에 있는 상기 압력 펄스들의 압력은 펄스들마다 변화하는, 상변화 잉크 화상 장치 작동 방법.
