Abstract
본 발명의 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물은 (A) 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 100 중량부; 및 (B) 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물 1~30 중량부를 포함하여 이루어진다. 본 발명의 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물은 특정한 난연제를 적용함으로서, 우수한 난연성을 확보할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 난연제의 균일한 분산이 가능하고, 경화반응에 영향이 없으며, 불포화 폴리에스테르의 고유한 투명성이 유지될 수 있다.

발명의 분야
본 발명은 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물에 관한 것이다. 보다 구체적으로 본 발명은 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지에 특정한 난연제를 적용함으로서, 난연성이 우수할 뿐만 아니라, 난연제의 균일한 분산이 가능하고, 경화반응에 영향이 없으며, 불포화 폴리에스테르의 고유한 투명성이 유지될 수 있는 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물에 관한 것이다.
발명의 배경
일반적으로 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물은 다가산 및 다가알콜의 에스테르화 반응을 통해 중합된 폴리에스테르 수지를 스티렌 등의 반응성 단량체에 희석시킨 액상 수지를 말한다. 상기의 액상 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물에 촉진 제 및 경화제를 투입하면 가교반응이 발생하여 고상이고 비중이 낮으면서 기계적 강도, 전기적 특성, 내수성, 내열성, 내약품성 등을 갖는 경화물을 얻을 수 있다. 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물은 저가이면서 취급 및 성형이 용이하므로, 항공기, 선박, 자동차, 열차 등에 사용되는 다양한 복합 재료 및 욕조, 인조대리석, 건축물 내외장재 등 다양한 분야에 광범위하게 사용되고 있다.
불포화 폴리에스테르 수지로 제조된 성형품은 불에 타기 쉬운 성질을 가지고 있으며, 연소 시 많은 유독가스를 발생시킬 수 있다. 이에 플라스틱 성형품의 난연화에 대한 많은 연구가 수행되고 있다. 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지의 난연화 방법의 구체적인 예로는 염소, 브롬 등을 함유한 할로겐 화합물, 예를 들면 클로로파라핀, 데카브로모디페닐옥사이드 등을 제조 원료 또는 수지첨가제로 사용하는 방법, 수산화알루미늄 등의 무기물을 수지에 첨가하여 발열량을 감소시키는 방법, 적인 등의 인계 또는 암모늄포스페이트 등의 질소계 난연제를 수지에 첨가하는 방법, 수지가 내화 도료로 사용될 경우에는 열팽창성 물질을 수지에 첨가하여 난연성을 향상시키는 방법 등이 이용되고 있다. 이와 같은 다양한 난연화 방법 중 특히 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지의 경우에는 할로겐화 화합물, 삼산화안티몬 등의 값싼 난연제를 첨가하는 방법이 주로 사용되고 있다.
일반적으로 사용되는 난연제로는 TBBPA(2,2',6,6'-Tetrabromo-4,4'- isopropylidenediphenol)이 있는데, TBBPA는 환경적인 문제로 용도에 제한이 있으며, 구조상에 있는 -OH기로 인해 반응에 영향을 미쳐 경화속도가 저해될 뿐만 아니라, 불포화 폴리에스테르의 고유한 투명성을 저해하여 최종 제품의 투과율이 떨어 지는 문제가 있다.
할로겐 난연제 중 환경적인 특성이 가장 뛰어난 난연제로는 데카브로모디페닐에탄(DBDPE)이 있다. 그러나, DBDPE는 융점이 매우 높고, 상용성이 저하되어 일부의 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지에는 사용하기 어렵다. 또한 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 고유의 투명성을 저해하여 경화물이 뿌옇게 되는 현상이 발생하고 난연제가 수지에 균일하게 분산되는 것이 어렵다.
한편, 2,4,6-트리스(2,4,6-트리브로모페녹시)-1,3,5-트리아진계 난연제의 경우, 투명성이 저하되는 현상은 없지만 경화반응을 느리게 하여 생산성이 좋지 않은 문제점이 있다.
따라서, 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지에 상용성과 분산성이 우수하여 균일한 난연성을 부여하면서, 불포화 폴리에스테르수지 고유의 투명성과 경화반응을 저해하지 않는 새로운 난연제의 개발이 필요하다.
이에, 본 발명자는 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지에 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물을 적용함으로서, 환경적 문제의 발생을 최소화하고, 난연성이 우수하면서도 난연제의 균일한 분산이 가능하고, 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지의 경화반응에 영향이 없으며, 불포화 폴리에스테르의 고유한 투명성이 유지될 수 있는 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물을 개발하기에 이른 것이다.
본 발명의 목적은 화재에 대하여 안정성이 있는 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물을 제공하기 위한 것이다.
본 발명의 다른 목적은 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 고유의 투명성을 유지할 수 있는 우수한 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물을 제공하기 위한 것이다.
본 발명의 또 다른 목적은 적은 난연제 함량으로도 V-0 난연성을 달성할 수 있는 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물을 제공하기 위한 것이다.
본 발명의 또 다른 목적은 상용성이 향상된 난연제를 적용함으로써 최종 경화제품 내에 난연제의 균일한 분산이 가능한 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물을 제공하기 위한 것이다.

발명의 요약
본 발명의 하나의 관점은 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물에 관한 것이다. 상기 수지 조성물은 (A) 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 100 중량부; 및 (B) 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물 1~30 중량부를 포함하여 이루어진다.
구체예에서는 상기 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지(A)는 불포화 에틸렌성 단량체를 더 포함할 수 있다. 상기 불포화 에틸렌성 단량체는 스티렌, 아크릴로니트릴, 아크릴레이트, 메타크릴로니크릴, 아크릴로인, 비닐아세테이트, 비닐클로라이드, 비닐리덴 클로라이드, 아크릴아미드, 메타크릴아미드, 클로로스티렌, 메틸스티렌, 비닐벤질클로라이드, 디비닐벤젠, 메틸메타크릴레이트, 메틸아크릴레이트, 아릴아세테이트, 비닐아세테이트, 비닐톨루엔, 및 디아릴프탈레이트로 이루어진 군으로부터 하나 이상 선택될 수 있다.
상기 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지(A)는 에폭시기, 아크릴기, 이소시아네이트기 및 디시클로펜타디엔으로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 그룹에 의해 변성될 수 있다.
구체예에서, 상기 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물(B)은 디페닐에탄을 브롬화하여 제조된 것으로, 전체 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물중 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 함량이 5∼85 중량%로 포함하고, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄의 함량을 0∼30 중량%로 포함할 수 있다.
상기 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물(B)은 전체 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물중 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 함량이 55∼85 중량%로 포함하고, 디페닐에탄에 홀수개로 브롬이 치환된 화합물을 1∼25 중량%로 포함할 수 있다.
한 구체예에서 상기 브롬화 디페닐 에탄 혼합물(B)은 펜타브로모디페닐에탄 0∼2 중량%, 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 55∼85중량%, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄 1∼20중량%, 옥타브로모디페닐에탄 1∼25중량%, 노나브로모디페닐에탄 0∼10중량% 및 데카브 로모디페닐에탄 0∼5중량%를 포함할 수 있다.
다른 구체예에서 상기 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물(B)은 펜타브로모디페닐에탄 5∼15 중량%, 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 72∼85 중량%, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄 2∼10 중량% 및 옥타브로모디페닐에탄 0.1∼3 중량%를 포함할 수 있다.

또 다른 구체예에서, 상기 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물(B)은 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 55∼83 중량%, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄 7∼17 중량%, 옥타브로모디페닐에탄 5∼23 중량%, 노나브로모디페닐에탄 1∼7 중량% 및 데카브로모디페닐에탄 0.01∼1 중량%를 포함할 수 있다.
구체예에서 상기 수지 조성물은 산화안티몬을 1∼10 중량부로 더 포함할 수 있다.
상기 수지 조성물은 테트라브로모 비스페놀 A, 데카브로모 디페닐옥사이드, 데카브로미네이티드 디-페닐에탄, 1,2-비스(트리브로모페닐) 에탄, 중량평균분자량이 600∼8000 g/mol인 브롬화 에폭시 올리고머, 옥타브로모 트리메틸페닐 인단, 비스(2,3-디브로모프로필 에테르), 트리스(트리브로모페닐) 트리아진 및 브롬화 지방족 및 방향족 탄화수소로 이루어진 군으로부터 하나 이상 선택되는 브롬계 난연제를 더 포함할 수 있다.
상기 수지 조성물은 폴리스티렌, 폴리메틸메타크릴레이트, 폴리우레탄, 폴리비닐아세테이트, 폴리에틸렌, 폴리프로필렌 및 포화 폴리에스테르로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 수지를 하나 이상 포함할 수 있다.
상기 수지 조성물은 난연제, 난연보조제, 적하방지제, 열안정제, 이형제, 내후안정제, 할로겐 안정제, 활제, 충진제, 커플링제, 광안정제, 산화방지제, 착색제, 대전방지제, 분산제 및 충격보강제로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 첨가제를 하나 이상 더 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명의 다른 관점은 상기 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물을 경화시킨 경화물에 관한 것이다. 상기 경화물은 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지(A)에 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물(B) 분산된 구조를 갖는다.
본 발명은 상기 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물의 프리프레그를 포함한다.
이하, 본 발명의 내용을 하기에서 상세히 설명한다.
발명의 구체예에 대한 상세한 설명
(A) 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지
본 발명에 사용되는 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지는 당업계에 통상적으로 공지되어 있으며, 다가산과 다가알콜의 에스테르화 반응 생성물로서 상기 다가산 및/또는 다가알콜 화합물은 불포화 부분을 포함한다.
상기 다가산으로는 폴리카르복실산, 폴리카르복실산 무수물, 폴리카르복실산 할라이드, 폴리카르복실산 에스테르를 사용할 수 있으며 탄소-산소 이중결합을 포함하는 불포화 폴리카르복실산의 구체적인 예로는 말레익산, 푸마르산, 클로로말레익산, 에틸말레익산, 이타코닉산, 시트라코닉산, 제로닉산, 피로친코닉산, 메사코닉산, 아코닉산, 에시틸렌 디카르복실산, 이들의 혼합물 등을 예시할 수 있다.
탄소-탄소 이중결합을 포함하는 불포화 다가알콜의 구체적인 예로는 부텐디올, 펜텐디올, 알릴 또는 비닐 글리세롤 에테르, 알릴 또는 비닐 펜타에리쓰리톨, 이들의 혼합물 등을 예수할 수 있다.
또한 상기 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지의 제조시 폴리에스테르 수지의 제조에 통상적으로 사용되는 프탈산, 이소프탈산, 테레프탈산, 석신산 등의 산성분과 에틸렌글리콜, 프로필렌글리콜, 부탄디올 등의 알콜 성분을 사용할 수 있다.
상기 다가산과 다가알콜은 반응온도, 촉매 등 통상의 폴리에스테르 중합 조건에 따라 반응하여 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지를 형성한다. 또한 상기 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지는 필요에 따라 에폭시기, 아크릴기, 이소시아네이트기 및 디시클로 펜타디엔 등에 의해 변성되거나 폴리스티렌, 폴리우레탄, 폴리메틸메타크릴레이트, 폴리비닐아세테이트 등 다른 수지와 블렌딩된 후 사용될 수도 있다.
본 발명에 따른 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지는 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지를 희석하여 액상으로 유지시키면서 경화제 존재 하에 상기 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지와 공중합하여 경화물을 형성하기 위해 불포화 에틸렌성 단량체를 더 포함할 수 있다. 상기 불포화 에틸렌성 단량체는 스티렌, 클로로스티렌, 메틸스티렌, 비닐벤질클로라이드, 디비닐벤젠, 메틸메타크릴레이트, 메틸아크릴레이트, 아릴아세테이트, 비닐아세테이트, 비닐톨루엔, 및 디아릴프탈레이트 등이 사용될 수 있으며, 이들은 단독 또는 2종 이상 혼합물로도 적용될 수 있다. 상기 불포화 에틸렌성 단량체는 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지와 반응하여 열경화성 고분자를 형성하기에 충분한 양으로 사용되며, 바람직하게는 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지와 불포화 에틸렌성 단량체 전체에 대하여 10 내지 90 중량%이다. 상기 범위로 사용하는 이유는 충분한 경화를 부여하기 위함이다. 하나의 구체예에서는 불포화 에틸렌성 단량체가 20 내지 85 중량%로 사용될 수 있다. 다른 구체예에서는 상기 불포화 에틸렌성 단량체가 50 내지 90 중량%, 혹은 60 내지 90 중량%로 사용될 수 있다. 또 다른 구체예에서는 상기 불포화 에틸렌성 단량체가 15 내지 50 중량%, 혹은 15 내지 45 중량% 로 사용될 수 있다.
상기 불포화 에틸렌성 단량체의 바람직한 예로는 방향족 비닐계 단량체이며, 더 바람직하게는 스티렌계 단량체이다.
이와 같이 불포화 에틸렌성 단량체와 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지를 함께 경화 시킬 경우, 불포화 에틸렌성 단량체와 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지가 가교 결합을 하거나 경화되어 플라스틱 성형물을 형성한다.
(B) 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물
본 발명의 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물(B)은 디페닐에탄을 브롬화하여 생성되는 혼합물로서 디페닐에탄에 5~9개의 Br을 첨가하는 반응을 진행한 후, 반응물로부터 브롬화 디페닐에탄을 회수하는 과정을 통하여 얻어진 반응 수득물이다. 상기 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물(B)은 전체 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물중 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 함량이 5∼85 중량%로 포함하고, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄의 함량을 0∼30 중량%로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
하나의 구체예에서는 상기 브롬화 디페닐 에탄 혼합물은 디페닐에탄, 용매 및 촉매로 채운 반응기에 브롬을 투입하고 반응기 온도를 -20 내지 35 ℃로 유지하여 0.5 내지 24 시간 동안 반응시켜 제조할 수 있다. 상기 촉매로는 알루미늄이나 안티몬등의 금속, 금속의 브롬화물 혹은 염화물, 또는 그 혼합물을 들 수 있다. 이들의 예로는 Al, AlCl3,Sb, SbCl3, SbCl5, SbBr3, SbClBr4, SbBrCl4, Fe, FeCl3, FeBr3, Ti, TiCl4, TiBr4, Sn, SnCl2, SnBr3, SnCl4, AlBr3, Be, BeCl2, Cd, CdCl2, Zn, ZnCl2, B, BF4, BCl3, BBr3, BiCl3, Zr, ZrCl4 등이 사용될 수 있으며, 디페닐에탄 1몰당 0.01 내지 3 몰로 사용할 수 있다.
상기 브롬의 투입비율은 디페닐에탄내 5 내지 8.5 개의 수소가 Br 으로 치환되도록 디페닐에탄 1몰당 5∼9 몰, 바람직하게는 6.0∼8 몰, 가장 바람직하게는 6.2∼7.7 몰 투입할 수 있다.
구체예에서는 상기 브롬화 디페닐 에탄 혼합물은 헥사브로모디페닐에탄, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄 및 옥타브로모디페닐에탄의 혼합물일 수 있다. 또는 테트라브로모디페닐에탄, 펜타브로모디페닐에탄 및 헥사브로모디페닐에탄의 혼합물일 수 있다.
다른 구체예에서는 펜타브로모디페닐에탄, 노나브로모디페닐에탄, 데카브로모디페닐에탄 및 저분자량 탄화수소를 더 포함할 수 있다. 상기 저분자량 탄화수소로는 모노브로모디페닐에탄, 디브로모디페닐에탄, 트리브로모디페닐에탄 또는 테트라브로모디페닐에탄 등을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 브롬화 디페닐 에탄 혼합물은 GC/MS 분석상 면적 비율 기준으로 헵타브로모디페닐에탄의 함량을 0∼30 중량%, 바람직하게는 0.01∼20 중량%, 더 바람직하게는 0.01∼17 중량% 포함할 수 있다. 또한 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 함량이 5∼85 중량%, 바람직하게는 10∼85 중량%, 더 바람직하게는 55∼85 중량%로 포함할 수 있다.
구체예에서는 상기 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물(B)은 전체 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물중 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 함량이 55∼85 중량%로 포함하고, 디페닐에탄에 홀수개로 브롬이 치환된 화합물을 1∼25 중량%로 포함할 수 있다. 상기 디페닐에탄에 홀수개로 브롬이 치환된 화합물은 펜타브로모디페닐에탄, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄, 노나브로모디페닐에탄 또는 이들의 2 이상 혼합물이다.
GC/MS 분석상 면적 비율 기준으로 하나의 구체예에서는 상기 브롬화 디페닐 에탄 혼합물은 펜타브로모디페닐에탄 0∼2 중량%, 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 55∼85중량%, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄 1∼20중량%, 옥타브로모디페닐에탄 1∼25중량%, 노나브로모디페닐에탄 0∼10중량% 및 데카브로모디페닐에탄 0∼5중량%를 포함할 수 있다.
다른 구체예에서 상기 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물은 펜타브로모디페닐에탄 5∼15 중량%, 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 72∼85 중량%, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄 2∼10 중량% 및 옥타브로모디페닐에탄 0.1∼3 중량%을 포함할 수 있다.
다른 구체예에서 상기 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물은 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 55∼75 중량%, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄 11∼16 중량%, 옥타브로모디페닐에탄 10∼20 중량% 및 노나브로모디페닐에탄 1∼9 중량%을 포함할 수 있다.
또 다른 구체예에서 상기 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물은 펜타브로모디페닐에탄 0.1∼3 중량%, 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 55∼83 중량%, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄 7∼15 중량%, 옥타브로모디페닐에탄 5∼20 중량% 및 노나브로모디페닐에탄 1∼7 중량%을 포함할 수 있다.

또 다른 구체예에서 상기 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물은 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 55∼83 중량%, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄 7∼17 중량%, 옥타브로모디페닐에탄 5∼23 중량%, 노나브로모디페닐에탄 1∼7 중량% 및 데카브로모디페닐에탄 0.01∼1 중량%을 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명에서 상기 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물(B)은 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지(A) 100 중량부에 대하여 1 내지 30 중량부로 사용될 수 있다. 1 중량부 미만으로 사용할 경우, 충분한 난연성을 얻을 수 없으며, 30 중량부를 초과하여 사용할 경우, 유동성이 저하될 수 있다. 바람직하게는 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지(A) 100 중량부에 대하여 3∼25 중량부, 더 바람직하게는 5∼20 중량부, 가장 바람직하게는 7∼15 중량부로 사용할 수 있다.
상기 수지 조성물은 폴리스티렌, 폴리메틸메타크릴레이트, 폴리우레탄, 폴리비닐아세테이트, 폴리에틸렌, 폴리프로필렌 및 포화 폴리에스테르로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 수지를 하나 이상 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명의 수지 조성물은 필요에 따라 난연제, 난연보조제, 적하방지제, 열안정제, 이형제, 내후안정제, 할로겐 안정제, 활제, 충진제, 커플링제, 광안정제, 산화방지제, 착색제, 대전방지제, 분산제 및 충격보강제 등의 첨가제를 더 포함할 수 있다. 이들은 단독 또는 2종 이상 혼합하여 사용될 수 있다.
상기 난연제로는 다른 할로겐계 난연제나 인계 난연제도 병행하여 사용될 수 있다. 상기 할로겐계 난연제로는 브롬계 난연제를 사용할 수 있다. 상기 브롬계 난연제로는 테트라브로모 비스페놀 A, 데카브로모 디페닐옥사이드, 데카브로미네이티드 디-페닐에탄, 1,2-비스(트리브로모페닐) 에탄, 중량평균분자량이 600∼8000 g/mol인 브롬화 에폭시 올리고머, 옥타브로모 트리메틸페닐 인단, 비스(2,3-디브로 모프로필 에테르), 트리스(트리브로모페닐) 트리아진, 브롬화 지방족 및 방향족 탄화수소 등이 사용될 수 있다. 이들은 단독 또는 2종 이상 혼합물로 사용될 수 있다.
상기 난연보조제로는 산화안티몬이 사용될 수 있다. 상기 산화안티몬으로는 삼산화안티몬, 오산화안티몬 및 이들의 혼합물이 사용될 수 있다. 이중 바람직하게는 삼산화안티몬이다. 삼산화안티몬의 경우 50% 입도가 0.01~6 ㎛인 것이 적당하며, 보다 바람직하기로는 0.02~3.0 ㎛이다. 오산화안티몬의 경우 입도는 0.01~1.0 ㎛인 것이 적당하며, 보다 바람직하기로는 0.02~0.5㎛이다. 본 발명에서 산화안티몬은 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 100 중량부에 대하여 1~10 중량부로 사용될 수 있다. 상기 산화안티몬을 10 중량부를 초과하여 사용하면 수지의 물성 균형을 해칠 수 있으므로 바람직하지 않다. 더욱 바람직하게는 산화안티몬을 1∼7 중량부, 또는 2∼5 중량부로 사용할 수 있다.
상기 충진제로는 유리섬유, 마이카, 수산화알루미늄, 탄산칼슘, 실리카, 활석, 알루미나, 수산화 마그네슘 등이 있으며, 반드시 이에 제한되는 것은 아니다.
본 발명에 따른 불포화 폴리에스테르수지 조성물은 경화제를 첨가하거나 가열, 광조사 등 통상의 방법으로 경화될 수 있다. 상기 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물을 경화시키기 위한 경화제로는 t-부틸퍼옥시이소프로필카보네이트, 및 t-부틸퍼옥시벤조에이트 등의 유기 퍼옥사이드, 아조비스이소부티로니트릴, 메틸에틸케톤 퍼옥사이드 등 통상의 경화제를 사용할 수 있다. 또한 상기 경화제와 함께 통상의 경화 촉진제를 병용하여 사용할 수 있다.
상기 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물을 가열하여 경화시킬 경우, 가열 온도는 에틸렌 단량체 등 각 성분의 끓는점 및 성형품의 두께, 경화 속도 등을 고려하여 적절히 설정할 수 있다. 이와 같은 경화 공정은 캐스팅, 라미네이팅, 주형 경화, 발포 경화 등의 통상의 방법으로 수행될 수 있다.
본 발명의 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물은 난연성이 우수하고, 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 고유의 투명성을 유지할 수 있어, 항공기, 선박, 자동차, 열차, 버스 등에 사용되는 다양한 복합 재료 및 욕조, 인조대리석, 건축물 내외장재 등 다양한 분야에 적합하게 사용할 수 있다.
실시예
하기 실시예 및 비교실시예에서 사용된 각 성분의 사양은 다음과 같다.
(A) 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 : 애경유화에서 제조된 폴리코트를 사용하였다.
(B) 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물
디페닐에탄내 수소가 Br로 치환되도록 하기 5∼8.5 당량의 Br을 첨가하여 합성한 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물을 사용하였다. 합성된 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물의 GC/MS를 이용한 조성분석은 주어진 시료를 Dilution Factor=2000 (0.5mg/mL)로 Toluene에 희석하여 완전히 용해시킨 후 GC vial에 1 mL를 채웠다. 측정기기는 Agilent 7683 injector, Agilent 7890N Gas Chromatography, 및 Agilent 5975C Mass Spectroscopy Detector를 사용하였다. 측정 조건은 Inlet temperature 320℃, split ratio는 splitless, column은 UA-1 혹은 DB-5HT를 사용하고, Column flow는 1.0ml/min, Oven temperature program은 40℃ (2min) - 40℃/min → 200℃ - 10℃/min → 260℃-20℃/min → 340℃(2min) 이며 MS interface temperature는 280℃로 정하였다. autosampler를 이용하여 GC/MSD에 1㎕를 주입하여 정성분석을 진행하였다. 각각의 측정된 조성은 area를 기준으로 사용하였다. Br함량 분석은 IC를 이용하였으며, 시료를 과량의 산소를 주입하여 연소시킨 뒤 IC-500을 사용하여 검량선을 작성한 후 측정하였다. 난연제 내의 조성은 하기 표 1과 같다.
(C) 브롬계 난연제
(C1) 알버말社에서 제조된 데카브로모디페닐에탄(제품명: SAYTEX 4010)을 사용하였다.
(C2) ICL社에서 제조된 2,4,6-트리스(2,4,6-트리브로모페녹시)-1,3,5-트리아진 (제품명: FR-245)을 사용하였다.
실시예 1~9
불포화 폴리에스테르 100 중량부에 상기에서 제조된 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물을 하기 표 2에 기재된 함량으로 첨가하여 뢰디게 믹서를 이용하여 균일하게 충분히 혼합한 후, 경화제로 ((국도화학, YDB-400D)를 5 중량부씩 함께 사용하여 150 ℃에서 경화시켜 시편을 제조하였다. 제조된 시편의 난연성은 UL 94 규격에 따라 1/8"에서 측정하였다. 투명성은 사출후의 외관을 육안으로 평가하였다. 상기 측정 결과를 하기 표2에 함께 나타내었다.
상기 표 2에 나타난 바와 같이, 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물을 적용하는 경우 비교실시예에 비해 우수한 난연성을 유지하면서 외관이 우수한 것을 알 수 있다.
본 발명은 환경적 문제의 발생을 최소화하고, 난연성이 우수하면서도 난연제의 균일한 분산이 가능하고, 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지의 경화반응에 영향이 없으며, 불포화 폴리에스테르의 고유한 투명성이 유지될 수 있는 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물을 제공하는 발명의 효과를 갖는다.
본 발명의 단순한 변형 내지 변경은 이 분야의 통상의 지식을 가진 자에 의하여 용이하게 실시될 수 있으며, 이러한 변형이나 변경은 모두 본 발명의 영역에 포함되는 것으로 볼 수 있다.

- (A) 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 100 중량부; 및(B) 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물 1~30 중량부;를 포함하며, 상기 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물(B)은 전체 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물 중 헥사브로모디페닐에탄을 55∼85 중량%로 포함하고, 디페닐에탄에 홀수개로 브롬이 치환된 화합물을 1∼25 중량%로 포함하며, 치환된 브롬의 평균 개수가 6.0 내지 7.7개인 것을 특징으로 하는 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지(A)는 불포화 에틸렌성 단량체를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물.

- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 브롬화 디페닐 에탄 혼합물(B)은 펜타브로모디페닐에탄 0∼2 중량%, 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 55∼85중량%, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄 1∼20중 량%, 옥타브로모디페닐에탄 1∼25중량%, 노나브로모디페닐에탄 0∼10중량% 및 데카브로모디페닐에탄 0∼5중량%를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물(B)은 펜타브로모디페닐에탄 5∼15 중량%, 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 72∼85 중량%, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄 2∼10 중량% 및 옥타브로모디페닐에탄 0.1∼3 중량%을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물(B)은 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 55∼75 중량%, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄 11∼16 중량%, 옥타브로모디페닐에탄 10∼20 중량% 및 노나브로모디페닐에탄 1∼9 중량%을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물(B)은 펜타브로모디페닐에탄 0.1∼3 중량%, 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 55∼83 중량%, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄 7∼15 중량%, 옥타브로모디페닐에탄 5∼20 중량% 및 노나브로모디페닐에탄 1∼7 중량%을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물(B)은 펜타브로모디페닐에탄 0.1∼3 중량%, 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 55∼83 중량%, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄 7∼15 중량%, 옥타브로모디페닐에탄 5∼20 중량%, 노나브로모디페닐에탄 1∼7 중량% 및 데카브로모디페닐에탄 0.01∼1 중량%을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물(B)은 헥사브로모디페닐에탄 55∼83 중량%, 헵타브로모디페닐에탄 7∼17 중량%, 옥타브로모디페닐에탄 5∼23 중량%, 노나브로모디페닐에탄 1∼7 중량% 및 데카브로모디페닐에탄 0.01∼1 중량%을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 수지 조성물은 산화안티몬을 1∼10 중량부로 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 수지 조성물은 테트라브로모 비스페놀 A, 데카브로모 디페닐옥사이드, 데카브로미네이티드 디-페닐에탄, 1,2-비스(트리브로모페닐) 에탄, 중량평균분자량이 600∼8000 g/mol인 브롬화 에폭시 올리고머, 옥타브로모 트리메틸페닐 인단, 비스(2,3-디브로모프로필 에테르), 트리스(트리브로모페닐) 트리아진 및 브롬화 지방족 및 방향족 탄화수소로 이루어진 군으로부터 하나 이상 선택되는 브롬계 난연제를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 수지 조성물은 폴리스티렌, 폴리메틸메타크릴레이트, 폴리우레탄, 폴리비닐아세테이트, 폴리에틸렌, 폴리프로필렌 및 포화 폴리에스테르로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 수지를 하나 이상 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물.
- 제1항에 있어서, 상기 수지 조성물은 난연제, 난연보조제, 적하방지제, 열안정제, 이형제, 내후안정제, 할로겐 안정제, 활제, 충진제, 커플링제, 광안정제, 산화방지제, 착색제, 대전방지제, 분산제 및 충격보강제로 이루어진 군으로부터 선택된 첨가제를 하나 이상 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물.
- 제1항 내지 제5항 및 제7항 내지 제16항 중 어느 한 항의 난연성 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지 조성물을 경화시킨 경화물.
- 제17항에 있어서, 상기 경화물은 불포화 폴리에스테르 수지(A)에 브롬화 디페닐에탄 혼합물(B) 분산된 구조를 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 경화물.
