- LED 광원(light source; 10)용 전원 공급기(power supply; 20)에 있어서,LED 전류 및 LED 전압을 포함하는 조절된 전원(regulated power)을 제공하도록 동작가능한 전원 컨버터(power converter; 23);상기 LED 광원(10)을 통한 상기 LED 전류의 흐름을 제어하도록 동작가능한 LED 제어 스위치(24) - 상기 LED 제어 스위치(24)는 상기 LED 광원(10)의 초기 로딩 단계(initial loading stage) 동안 상기 LED 전류의 피크(peak)를 클램프(clamp)하도록 더 동작가능함 - ;상기 LED 전류가 피크 임계치(peak threshold) 미만일 때, 상기 LED 광원(10)으로부터 상기 전원 컨버터(23)로의 전류 경로를 확립하도록 동작가능한 스위치(SW1) - 상기 스위치(SW1)는, 상기 LED 전류가 상기 피크 임계치를 초과할 때, 상기 전류 경로를 제거하도록(eradicate) 더 동작가능함 - ; 및외부 조광 명령(external dim command)에 응답하여 상기 스위치(SW1)에 펄스 폭 변조 신호(pulse width modulation signal)를 제공하도록 동작가능한 LED PWM 조광기(dimmer)(29)를 포함하며,상기 펄스 폭 변조 신호는 램프 신호(ramp signal)를 초과하는 상기 조광 명령에 응답하여 타겟 펄스 폭을 가지며,상기 펄스 폭 변조 신호는 상기 조광 명령(dim command)을 초과하는 상기 램프 신호에 응답하여 최소 펄스 폭을 갖는 전원 공급기.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 LED PWM 조광기(29)는,정확하고 온도에 둔감한 방식으로 상기 최소 펄스 폭을 확립하도록 동작가능한 비안정 다조파발진기 회로(astable multivibrator circuit; 129)를 포함하는 전원 공급기.
- 제3항에 있어서, 상기 LED PWM 조광기(29)는,상기 램프 신호 및 상기 조광 명령의 수신에 응답하여 상기 타겟 펄스 폭을 확립하도록 동작가능한 비교기(U3)를 포함하는 전원 공급기.
- 제5항에 있어서, 상기 LED PWM 조광기(29)는,상기 비교기(U3)에 상기 최소 펄스 폭을 나타내는 상기 램프 신호를 제공하도록 동작가능한 램프 생성기(ramp generator)를 더 포함하는 전원 공급기.
- 제6항에 있어서, 상기 LED PWM 조광기(29)는,정확하고 온도에 둔감한 방식으로 상기 최소 펄스 폭을 확립하도록 동작가능한 비안정 다조파발진기 회로(129)를 더 포함하는 전원 공급기.
- LED 광원(light source; 10)용 전원 공급기(power supply; 20)에 있어서,LED 전류 및 LED 전압을 포함하는 조절된 전원(regulated power)을 제공하도록 동작가능한 전원 컨버터(power converter; 23);상기 LED 광원(10)을 통한 상기 LED 전류의 흐름을 제어하도록 동작가능한 LED 제어 스위치(24); 및상기 LED 전압과 연관되는 상기 LED 광원(10)의 동작 상태(operating condition)를 나타내는 검출 신호를 제공하도록 동작가능한 검출 회로(30)를 포함하며,상기 LED 제어 스위치(24)는 상기 LED 광원(10)의 초기 로딩 단계(initial loading stage) 동안 상기 LED 전류의 피크(peak)를 클램프(clamp)하도록 더 동작가능하고,상기 검출 신호는 상기 LED 광원(10)의 부하 상태(load condition)를 나타내는 제1 레벨을 가지며,상기 검출 신호는 상기 LED 광원(10)의 단락 상태(short condition) 또는 개방 상태(open condition)를 나타내는 제2 레벨을 갖는 전원 공급기.
- 제8항에 있어서, 상기 부하 동작 상태는, 상기 LED 광원(10) 양단의 LED 전압 강하(voltage drop)의 크기가 0 volts와 상기 LED 전압 사이임을 나타내는 전원 공급기.
- 제8항에 있어서, 상기 단락 동작 상태는 상기 LED 광원(10) 양단의 LED 전압 강하의 크기가 0 volts에 근접함을 나타내는 전원 공급기.
