Claims (11)
- 편광자와,양의 굴절률 이방성을 갖고, 층의 법선 방향으로부터 경사진 광축을 갖는 제1 광학적 이방성 층과,음의 굴절률 이방성을 갖고, 층의 법선 방향으로부터 경사진 광축을 갖는 제2 광학적 이방성 층을 포함하고,제1 광학적 이방성 층의 광축의 경사 방향과 제2 광학적 이방성 층의 광축의 경사 방향은 직교하도록 구성되고,편광자의 투과축과 제1 광학적 이방성 층의 광축 방향은 서로 평행하거나 직교하도록 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 타원 편광판.
- 제1항에 있어서, 층들은 편광자/제1 광학적 이방성 층/제2 광학적 이방성 층의 순서로 적층되는 것을 특징으로 하는 타원 편광판.
- 삭제
- 제1항에 있어서, 제1 광학적 이방성 층은 봉상 네마틱 액정 분자로 형성된 것을 특징으로 하는 타원 편광판.
- 제1항에 있어서, 제2 광학적 이방성 층은 원반형 액정 분자로 형성된 것을 특징으로 하는 타원 편광판.
- 비틀림 네마틱형 액정 셀과,액정 셀의 적어도 일측에 제공되고 타원 편광판을 구비한 적어도 제1 광학적 보상층을 포함하며,상기 타원 편광판은 편광자와, 양의 굴절률 이방성을 갖고 층의 법선 방향으로부터 경사진 광축을 갖는 제1 광학적 이방성 층과, 음의 굴절률 이방성을 갖고 층의 법선 방향으로부터 경사진 광축을 갖는 제2 광학적 이방성 층을 포함하고, 제1 광학적 이방성 층의 광축의 경사 방향과 제2 광학적 이방성 층의 광축의 경사 방향은 직교하도록 구성되고, 편광자의 투과축과 제1 광학적 이방성 층의 광축 방향은 서로 평행하거나 직교하도록 구성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제6항에 있어서, 타원 편광판에 대한 액정 셀의 대향측에 제공된 제2 광학적 보상층을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제7항에 있어서, 제2 광학적 보상층은, 평면 내의 2개의 방향에서의 굴절률들이 nx 및 ny로 설정되고 두께 방향에서의 굴절률이 nz로 설정될 때, nx > ny = nz의 굴절률 관계를 갖는 적어도 하나의 층을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제7항에 있어서, 제2 광학적 보상층은, 평면 내의 2개의 방향에서의 굴절률들이 nx 및 ny로 설정되고 두께 방향에서의 굴절률이 nz로 설정될 때, nx = ny > nz의 굴절률 관계를 갖는 적어도 하나의 층을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제7항에 있어서, 제2 광학적 보상층은, 평면 내의 2개의 방향에서의 굴절률들이 nx 및 ny로 설정되고 두께 방향에서의 굴절률이 nz로 설정될 때, nx < ny = nz의 굴절률 관계를 갖는 적어도 하나의 층을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- 제7항에 있어서, 제2 광학적 보상층은, 평면 내의 2개의 방향에서의 굴절률들이 nx 및 ny로 설정되고 두께 방향에서의 굴절률이 nz로 설정될 때, nx > ny > nz의 굴절률 관계를 갖는 적어도 하나의 층을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
