Description
Claims (12)
- 연료 탱크용 증기 벤트 밸브 조립체에 있어서,벤트 통로(38) 및 상기 벤트 통로의 일단부에 밸브 시트(36)를 형성하는 하우징과,상기 하우징과 관련되고 상기 하우징에 대하여 이동할 수 있도록 안내되며, 상기 하우징에 대하여 제한된 로스트 모션(lost motion)을 위해 내부에 수용되어(captured) 있는 탄성 시일 부재(56)를 갖는 케이지(cage)를 구비하는 플로트 조립체(26)를 포함하고,상기 탄성 시일 부재는 연료 레벨이 일정 레벨로 상승하는 것에 응답하여 상기 플로트 조립체가 상승할 때에 상기 밸브 시트와 접촉하도록 배치되며,상기 플로트 조립체는 하방으로 연장하는 돌출부(64)를 더 포함하고, 상기 연료 레벨이 상기 일정 레벨 이하로 감소하여 상기 플로트 조립체가 강하할 때에, 상기 돌출부는 상기 탄성 시일 부재와 접촉하여 상기 탄성 시일 부재를 부분적으로 편향시켜서 상기 밸브 시트와의 접촉으로부터 떨어지도록 작동 가능한증기 벤트 밸브 조립체.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 탄성 시일 부재(56)는 비교적 얇은 원형 형상을 갖는증기 벤트 밸브 조립체.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 탄성 시일 부재(56)는 그 주위에 형성된 확대된 주연 비드(58)를 구비한 비교적 얇은 형상을 갖는증기 벤트 밸브 조립체.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 탄성 시일 부재(56)는 그 주연부 둘레에 일체로 형성된 환형 비드(58)를 구비한 비교적 얇은 형상을 갖는증기 벤트 밸브 조립체.
- 삭제
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 케이지는 상기 연료 레벨의 방향으로 경사진 상부 부분(62)을 갖는증기 벤트 밸브 조립체.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 케이지는 상기 케이지와 일체식으로 형성된 상기 하방으로 연장하는 돌출부(64)를 구비하는증기 벤트 밸브 조립체.
- 연료 탱크내의 증기 벤트를 제어하는 방법에 있어서,(a) 상기 탱크의 벽을 관통하는 벤트 포트(38)를 제공하고, 상기 벤트 포트 둘레에 환형 밸브 시트(36)를 제공하는 단계와,(b) 플로트(50) 상에서의 제한된 로스트 모션을 위해 탄성 시일(56)을 케이징(caging)하고, 상기 플로트의 상승 이동시에 탄성 시일을 이동시켜 상기 탄성 시일이 상기 밸브 시트와 접촉하도록 상기 플로트를 배치시키는 단계와,(c) 하방으로 연장하는 돌출부(64)를 상기 케이지 상에 배치하고, 상기 플로트의 하강 이동시에 상기 탄성 시일을 상기 돌출부와 부분적으로 접촉시켜서, 상기 밸브 시트로부터 상기 탄성 시일을 부분적으로 떨어뜨리는 단계를 포함하는증기 벤트 제어 방법.
