Abstract
Description
Claims (11)
- 광원으로부터 방사된 조명광을 광공간 변조기에 의해 변조함으로써 원하는 화상을 표시하는 화상 표시 장치에 있어서, 상기 광원은,소정의 방사 스펙트럼을 갖는 거의 백색의 주광을 방사하기 위한 주광원;상기 주광의 방사 스펙트럼과 상이한 방사 스펙트럼을 갖는 보조광을 방사하기 위한 보조 광원; 및상기 주광의 강도가 상기 보조광의 강도보다 작은 소정의 파장 대역에서 상기 주광을 상기 보조광으로 대체하여, 상기 주광의 방사 스펙트럼의 파장 대역을 상기 보조광으로 보강하는 조명광을 생성하는 조명광 합성 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 광공간 변조기는 반사형 화상 표시 소자인 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 주광원은 램프이고, 상기 보조 광원은 레이저 또는 발광 다이오드인 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제 3항에 있어서,상기 램프는 초고압 수은 램프인 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 삭제
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 조명광 합성 수단은 유전체 다층막을 갖는 이색성 미러 또는 이색성 프리즘인 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 조명광 합성 수단은 홀로그램 소자인 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 조명광 합성 수단은 상기 조명광을 생성하기 위해 주광의 대부분을 출사하고 보조광의 대부분을 반사하는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 주광의 강도를 검출하기 위한 강도 검출 수단; 및상기 강도 검출 수단에 의한 강도 검출 결과에 의해 보조광의 강도를 제어하기 위한 제어 수단을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제 9항에 있어서,상기 강도 검출 수단은 소정의 파장 대역에서 주광의 강도를 검출하고, 상기 소정의 파장 대역의 중심 파장은 500nm 내지 570nm인 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
- 제 10항에 있어서,상기 보조광의 상기 중심 파장은 600nm 내지 750nm인 것을 특징으로 하는 화상 표시 장치.
