Claims (13)
- 무선 근거리 네트워크(WLAN)에서 이동국의 이동성(mobility)을 용이하게 하는 방법에 있어서,이동 노드 인터넷 프로토콜(MNIP) 어드레스를 상기 이동국과 연관시키는 단계;상기 이동국과 제 1 서브넷의 제 1 WLAN 액세스 포인트(AP) 사이에 제 1 통신 링크를 확립하는 단계;상기 제 1 서브넷의 상기 제 1 AP에 연관시키고, 제 1 WLAN 인터넷 프로토콜(WLAN IP) 어드레스를 상기 이동국과 연관시키며, 영구 접속을 사용하는 애플리케이션에 대해 상기 제 1 WLAN IP 어드레스를 사용하는 단계;상기 이동국 및 제 2 서브넷의 제 2 WLAN AP 사이에 제 2 통신 링크를 확립하는 단계;상기 이동국이 영구 접속을 사용하는 애플리케이션을 사용할 때, 상기 영구 접속의 지속 기간 동안 상기 제 2 서브넷과 통신하기 위하여 상기 이동국에 할당된 다른 어드레스 없이 상기 제 1 WLAN IP 어드레스를 계속해서 사용하는 단계; 및상기 영구 접속이 더 이상 필요치 않을 때 상기 제 2 서브넷에서 제 2 WLAN IP 어드레스를 요구하는 단계를 포함하는, 이동국의 이동성을 용이하게 하는 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제 2 서브넷과 통신하기 위하여 상기 제 1 WLAN IP 어드레스를 사용하는 단계는, 일정한 시그널링 접속(signaling connection)을 유지하도록 상기 MNIP 어드레스를 사용하면서 실시간 미디어 통신을 위하여 상기 제 1 WLAN IP 어드레스를 사용하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 이동국의 이동성을 용이하게 하는 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 WLAN IP 어드레스를 상기 MNIP 어드레스와 연관시키는 단계, 및 상기 이동국이 상기 제 1 서브넷과 상기 제 2 서브넷 사이에서 전이할 때 상기 영구 접속을 지원하기 위하여 케어 오브 어드레스(COA:care of address)로서 상기 제 1 WLAN IP 어드레스를 사용하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 이동국의 이동성을 용이하게 하는 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 제 1 WLAN IP 어드레스로 정해진 임의의 데이터가 상기 제 1 서브넷으로부터 상기 제 2 서브넷으로 전송된 후, 상기 제 1 WLAN IP 어드레스로 정해진 상기 임의의 데이터를 상기 제 2 서브넷에서 수신하여, 상기 제 2 서브넷으로의 상기 영구 접속을 연장하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 이동국의 이동성을 용이하게 하는 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 MNIP 어드레스는 상기 이동국상에서 동작하는 애플리케이션들을 위하여 이용되고, 상기 애플리케이션은, 이메일 클라이언트들, 파일 시스템 클라이언트들, 인스턴트 메시징 클라이언트, 및 상기 이동국이 상기 제 2 서브넷으로 이동할 때 상기 이동국의 어드레스가 변경되는 경우에 접속을 재확립해야 하는 다른 애플리케이션들 중 하나를 포함하는, 이동국의 이동성을 용이하게 하는 방법.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 MNIP 어드레스를 상기 이동국과 연관시키는 단계는, 상기 이동국의 제공과 상기 WLAN과의 등록 중 하나에 의하여 상기 MNIP 어드레스를 획득하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 이동국의 이동성을 용이하게 하는 방법.
- 무선 근거리 네트워크(WLAN)내에서 동작하고 이동성을 용이하게 하기 위한 액세스 포인트(AP)에 있어서,상기 WLAN내에서 통신 링크들을 지원하도록 동작가능한 트랜시버; 및이동국에 통신 링크를 확립하고,상기 이동국이 상기 AP에 의하여 지원되는 IP 어드레스 범위와 다른 제 1 WLAN 인터넷 프로토콜(WLAN IP) 어드레스를 사용할 때를 인식하고,상기 제 1 WLAN IP 어드레스가 상기 AP에 의하여 지원되는 상기 IP 어드레스 범위와 다르다고 인식할 때 제 1 서브넷에 터널을 개시하고, 상기 터널은 상기 이동국이 상기 이동국에 할당된 다른 어드레스 없이 영구 접속 동안 상기 제 1 WLAN IP 어드레스를 사용하도록 상기 영구 접속의 지속 기간 동안 및 상기 이동국이 상기 제 1 서브넷으로 전이할 때 상기 영구 접속을 지원하고,상기 영구 접속이 더 이상 필요하지 않을 때 상기 터널을 종료하도록 상기 트랜시버와 상호 동작가능한 제어기를 포함하는, 액세스 포인트(AP).
- 제 7 항에 있어서,상기 제어기는 상기 이동국에 대한 케어 오브 어드레스로서 제 2 WLAN IP 어드레스와 상기 이동국에 대한 이동 노드 IP(MNIP) 어드레스를 연관시키기 위하여 홈 에이전트를 사용하여 이동 IP 등록을 용이하게 하도록 동작하는, 액세스 포인트(AP).
- 제 8 항에 있어서,상기 제어기는 또한 상기 이동국이 DHCP 요구를 수행할 때 상기 터널을 종료하도록 상기 트랜시버와 상호 동작가능한, 액세스 포인트(AP).
- 제 9 항에 있어서,상기 제어기는 또한 상기 제 1 WLAN IP 어드레스가 상기 액세스 포인트의 서브넷에서 유효할 때 상기 DHCP 요구를 인터셉트하고 상기 DHCP 요구에 응답하도록 상기 트랜시버와 상호 동작가능한, 액세스 포인트(AP).
